  • I saw this movie 30 or 40 years ago and it left a lasting impression on me. The haunting music, the stunning images, and a message that is still just as poignant today as it was in 1967!

  • A great film , quite haunting , wish I had a copy .

    Brian sends this !

  • Revelation of the method....

Cos that is what this film is!

  • Judging from what I've seen it looks like the flip side of "Wild in the Streets," where the rock star character wanted to start a revolution, this one wants to preserve the status quo!

  • I watched this for the very first time last night and I can't get it out of my mind. An amazing movie for sure.

  • bit of a precursor to Tommy perhaps?

  • Saw this movie when I was 15yrs . Remembered thinking that the middle part of the song just heard was from "we gota get outta this pl." and the concept of the cage from "inside looking out". Anyway, Jimbo did the real thing same year in New Haven,Ct. Also, about the movie, where's the scene w/ the cross lit w/ light bulbs?

  • This is a very good movie, but i need to see it again. The music fo the movie is so fantastic. Cut everyone give me a hint where i can get the movie in german and the soundtrack also. had it have on cassette but after years i cant found it anymore. Thanks in advance:-)

  • Steven Shorter represent's the spirit of a age and a generation that changes the world. This is the best film I ever see in my life.

  • Just found a DVD of this and watched it last night - good movie. I saw a picture in someone's DVD list, and recognized the face in the background mural at the Christian Nationalist Rally scene from a picture in a book about movies, mostly horror and sci-fi, but with other stuff like this movie, that I got from a used book store when I was little. It would be a good movie for "American Idol" hopefuls to see.

  • Lyrics??

  • Saw Patti Smith perform this in 79. I've liked her ever since.

  • i got a copy of the book on ebay, good read, the full film was on youtube but must have been removed

  • @jimbo271uk it was I remember seeing it there but I couldn't watch it properly because I had dial up service then

  • Kultfilm - Musik mehr ist nicht zu sagen !

  • jmen4ever ...couldn't agree more.BRILLIANT

  • I'll bet that Pete Townshend was a big fan.

  • Hallo !

  • awesome

  • We were also extras on this film and we recognise Christopher Rushton - where are you now? Brilliant!!!!!

    christina and Jaki

  • I went to see this film at The Art Gallery of Ontario 5 years ago as part of a Peter Watkins festival and he was actually there to speak about it. He even read some of the original reviews and spoke about how people said things to him like, "You can't do allegory in the cinema." I didn't know he was going to be there but as soon as he spoke there was no mistaking that voice.

  • Oh Lucky Man!!

But never forget that this vision of the Britain of All You Need Is Hate - came true:

Enoch Powell Rivers of Blood Speech April 1968

The 'Christian Nationalist Rally' IS the 1971 Festival of Light rally - Mary Whitehouse Lord Longford & Cliff Richard.

    AND Paul Jones himself!!!

  • my mom was in this film at the end and i want it but its like £60-£70 quid anyone no where i can get it cheaper

  • Peter Watkins made two incredible films prior to this one; The War Game and Culloden.

So can anybody tell me why this film is not available?

  • This was film at the Birmingham Town Hall - wow! I recall those white doors at the end of the stage

  • i want to be like steven shorter and save the uk

  • This should be a broadway musical.

  • This looks amazing. Is it available on DVD?

  • This was-and still is-such an intense, heavy filmwork. It compares to "A Clockwork Orange' or 'Performance.' BTW, Paul Jones sang lead vocals for the British band Manfred Mann.

  • How amazing to see this film. I was a 17 yr old drama student in Birmingham and an extra on the film. I remember this day so well, it took all day to shoot this scene and i am featured in the bright turquise jumper falling to my knees while he rolls on the floor. Since then stills of me from the film seem to come out now and then in magazines and cd covers - this seems to be considered a cult movie these days! Thanks for this video - i have such tremendous memories.

  • @angiec18 You're lucky to have appeared in this film :D Well done there :) I only discovered the movie earlier this year and wish i had seen it sooner!

  • One of the most incredible filmes EVER made!
