Yes, a cutbow is a hybrid cutthroat x rainbow trout. There are a few different types of cutthroat in Colorado, the fish shown at the 4:00 minute mark on the video is actually a pure snake river cutthroat. Colorado river cutthroats are also used to cross with rainbows to create cutbows.

great vid, beautiful fish! i live in ontario and have never heard of a cutbow before. Are they a cross between regular bows and cuts like the brookie and laker cross to form splake?

All trout were released unharmed. The only fish taken home was a small sucker that will be used for bait on a future fishing trip.
