I love the idea of Ellen being a judge, and not having all the experience because she'll judge it from how normal viewers do. We may not be musical experts but we still know what sounds good. Ellen will judge it from how everyone sitting at home on their couches watching would. And there's of course the added factor of her just having such a fun vibe. :D
To this day, I stil regret that Ellen quit American Idol, though I understand why she decided to leave.

Apparently Simon Cowell was the main reason Ellen got the part...
Simon had the final say, along with Fox hierarchy..
