  • i think she did a great job for "pet" grooming, your comments are harsh and the most important thing in grooming is how the dog is treated. with love and kindness, which i think she showed. your probably a character out of the movie"Best in Show"

  • thank you for this video this helps alot i am going to school to do this thank you

  • I think she's done ok. She's not claiming to be a poodle expert, just going over the basics. This poodles coat is pretty short but I did a black standard poodle myself today with short coat as she's growing it out from the last groomer who shaved her down, which could easily be the case here. I think some of these comments are harsh and not constructive. A big part of what makes an excellent groomer is thier ability to help improve skills and knowledge without insulting eachother.

  • Ya know whats funny? I groom my poodle myself and came up with my own clip style and I only use a basice paere of dog clippers and mustash clippers and EVERYONE always asks my where I get her done! lol :) But I do want to watch your videos and learn something. I LOVE THE POODLE :)

  • Rosie sure is beautiful. I love poodles.

  • No big deal. just an unpainful bursitis (SP).

  • Its all great and all... but she grabs his muzzle too much... methinks... Rosie seems very tame for such roughish handling...

  • What a beautiful poodle! She is so well behaved :) My dog wiggles when the groomer shaves and cuts his hair

  • what's the best hair dog clippers? what brand and model? please thank you

  • @LLLTTTCCC its all about preference....if you are just starting out Andis is a good brand. My first pair of clippers were Andis AGC Super 2 speed. They are anout $120-$150 if i'm not mistaken. They are pretty sturdy and get the job done and they last a long time...hope this helps.

  • what a horrible cut on that dog. I agree not a very good groomer. Just because the dog in not a show dog or competition dog doesnt mean she shouldnt look good!!!

  • LOL... I had only 1 minute video clip to show each technique, and we did 100 of them . WHEW! We did finish grooming her all the way after the video shooting. My grooming is very professional and I have quite a client base.

  • i agree with ardneish , she really is not a very good example of a groomer , im a groomer too with c+g in grooming and my advanced grooming diplomas , also won 4 grooming comps so i know what im talking about , i go to shows and seminars so i keep learning about tecniques and styles , my clients get the best possible groom think i will have to do some post on here !

  • I love the comments from the peanut gallery. too bad they dont post their video's.

  • overall finished look of this poodle is poor. Why is it so short all over? Bad exaple of how to achieve a GOOD look

  • You never knew that at expert village, there is no experts at all? :P

  • she did alright, the only comment i have is her technique with her scissors. She hacks a little too much.

  • A dog should be groomed as though the groomer will be judged on it. No matter if it's a pet or show or competition. I don't liek that it's fine if it's not perfect because it's not a competition. Every dog I groom has to be as perfect as I can make it, no matter what.

  • thank you so much I was having a difficult time with the tops of my toy and mini poodles this helps a lot!!!!

  • I don't think this is a very good video about grooming your poodle because you need to know that everyone is not as perfect as you trimming poodles head.

  • crazy scissors.. watch out for them eyes.. she did that too fast. like really fast. i take forever. jeeze this makes me feel slow.

  • As a judge and exhibitor of poodles

I am cringing watching this video

why are you using curved shank scissors on a top knot?

and why are you not warning people about pointing the scissor AWAY from the eyes

your video is made in good will

but most watchers dogs will not be standing this still

This is a job for proffesional well trained people dogs can be seriousy injured by inexperienced owners

  • i totaly agree. i am a dog groomer, and i have a standard poodle that i adopted.. i lucked out that he is very good for everything.

  • I am not a a show poodle groomer, in the video I let people know that this is not a show head or competition grooming. Obviously there is more than one way to do this, and I would not expect a show judge to like it. This video is for Pet Groomers and people who are already grooming. anyone working with a dog and scissors can see you need to use the scissors with caution.

  • @ardneish good points, (the way i feel about the tone is not as important as the physical well being of animals and the good training of future veterinarians)

  • @ardneish good points, (the way i feel about the tone is not as important as the physical well being of animals and the good training of future veterinarians) how do i know you really are a judge? ":L

  • do you ever get bit

  • So helpful and clear. Thank you!!

  • I adopted a 5yr old poodle the same color and he was never groomed the right way by his 1st owner. I always thought he was ugly until I adopted him and learned how to groom him from watching videos. He looks cute now! Thanks
