People being mean either don't have a frame of context for playing an instrument or forgot what it was like learning to play an instrument. Yes, the kid made mistakes. So what. We all make a mistake every now and then. So sure, there's room for improvement but I think he is definitely skillful already for his age. I didn't start playing until later in my life and if I don't warm up first, I pick like that, too. Don't sweat, kid. You're on the right road and you're going to be awesome.

Try Something Easier First, Like Try Some Classic Rock Songs First Like, "Rock Me Like A Hurricane", "Rock Bottom", "Smoke On the Water", "Cat Scratch Fever", "Ironman", "Crazy Train", "Back In Black", Things Like This. If Your Confident Then You Can Even Try Thunderstruck Which Is One Of My Favorites To Play. But Try Those Suggestions First.
