Thank you kind of, I don't think a solo guitar Classical piece really calls for a metronome/robotic timing. However, as you'll see in my drum videos, I do have a metronome and used to use it on average about 2 hours a day for about 200 days in a row at one point I think...
I think so but do yourself a favour and learn to work stuff out. You've also got a video that is in sync showing exactly what I'm playing. I used to ask everyone for tabs and I'm so glad people refused so I learnt to DIY.
I do have that too but try that likewise =] all the other parts are = repeats, e.g, Violin one comes in solo, plays 8 bars, Violin 2 then comes in and plays those 8 bars whilst Volin is playing something different. So it's like *here is score of Volin 1* and Violin 2 = exactly the same but starts 8 bars later, likewise with 3 and 4 and however many Violins there are.
Thanks! Nah - I think the only time I use it is for the low D on the intro part, but you can easily octave it up or anything. The 7 strings (though totally not *needed*) really frees up positions to play stuff (in touch style you can't have 2 notes on the same string for obvious reasons thus sometimes close intervals cause strange fingerings). Got an 8 string on the way, should be fun to see what I can do on that! Thanks again =) Give moi a shout if any section confuses you too much.
Do you by any chance have the think to the original sheet music you transcribed this off of? Because I'm having trouble with everything after about 0:38, and it would be way easier. Thanks for the help.
I do but the easiest option doesn't always give the best result - what I mean there, is rather then me send you the tab/rely on tabs, try working stuff out yourself, it's such a useful skill, in time you'll find yourself reading tabs you thought were good + spotting flaws, you'll hear what strings riffs are being played etc, I don't mind sending you the tab but try it yourself first man =) See how far you can get till you struggle (it obviously starts easy + gets harder)+say if you want help =]
wow man, some guys said this is some kind of original of canon rock, well it aint look like that but its a complete style of its own :D respect for you dude cool vid, i aint this good yet but someday ill have video response no doubt bout that!!
On my computer which doesn't work now there is *is on brother's computer* All I done was got a midi of it and arranged 2 tracks for touchstyle and sometimes could fit in a 3rd of what I believe was 4 violins.
Thanks, well, I was doing a few takes of it after I screwed up and I thought if I'm not good enough to play it perfect in one or two goes, why should I try and hide that? That's me, so here it is : ] I'm always practising.
Fair enough! I sometimes get like that with my videos. I do guitar lessons, check them out. I mainly do metal, rock or indie but I do the occassional obscure thing.
You should learn some Animals As Leaders songs

That was awesome.
I'm thinking of learning this, does it require a 7 string?

Very well done - great choice to work on. That's a challenging and complex piece to be doing finger style.
If you can do that cleanly, you would be well on your way.
Unrelated - I advise all guitar types to check out Marques-junior. The guy's something else.
GrampaCrusty 3 years ago
Thanks man, I've not played touch style in a while, I'm not sure whether to keep it up or replace it with other guitar practise.
I just checked that guy out and no doubt he's good but not my thing at all.
