  • he aint no santa clause

  • 10000 viewer:D

  • Bass is an extremely low version of baritone voice, chaps.

  • This guy's range is so much fuller than Chris Cornell's or Axl Rose's.

  • ....once more; yet another evil message. yes , i will do it. i understand master..

  • his voice is not baritone, its bass ... maybe even contrabass.

  • Baritone? I think more like a bass...

  • I laughed when i read all the comments :D The section 5. in the description, is that a pun on jowox ?

  • /watch?v=SRqPXkr2RxA A Swedish relative?

    Nice A1/G♯1 here anyway.

  • That's clip #5! I assumed he was bilingual

  • How'd ya know?

Oh, and has it been confirmed that this is another G♯1 by him?

  • Oh wait, it's clip #4 here but it reaches G#1, you're right!

Michael Jackson covering the Jolly Green Giant, bottoming at F3, proving JGG's everlasting influence on music once more. R.I.P Michael.

Can anyone confirm if this C#5 is really him? Could be falsetto.

  • Good finds here, but I'm afraid that I have to admit that the C♯5 doesn't sound like his voice...and it could be falsetto anyway, like you said.

  • TRIVIA: On Peter Steele's biography on the official Type O Negative site, it says: "A.K.A. Jolly Green Giant, Herman, Gorilla, Green Man, Lurch."

  • Interesting! Someone sent me an email entirely in bold telling me that the D4 might touch on Eb4.

  • does this guy write his own lyrics?

  • Yeah I think so, this guy is a triple threat!

  • Those are not baritones...They're low basses...

  • A low bass? I don't think so, but possibly a bass.

  • Hm...perhaps we should check the credits. Who's to say it's not him doing the D4 at the end of the last clip? That would give him a good two and a half octaves!

I like how there's a Powderpuff Girls Him clip in the related menu.

  • There are session musicians credited on vocals so perhaps one of them hits the D4. Doesn't sound like the Jolly Green Giant anyway.

  • Psh, gimme a break. Who are we to judge what "sounds like him" in his upper register when we've never even heard anything higher than C3? You should know how unpredictable some of these great singers can turn out to be!

But yes, I suppose the credits for session musicians make it a bit less likely...hm, now if only we could find a clip where he shouts, maybe he'd work his way up to some high notes there!

  • I went on a bootleg hunt but they're hard to come by. Maybe we'll find some higher stuff when he records some new material.

  • Perhaps, but at this age, I doubt we'll be hearing anything high from him any time soon...after all, his highest note is almost forty years old, and he hasn't shown signs of using his high register any time recently...

  • does he have an EP in the works?

  • this reminds me my sisters friend laughing.

  • I'm impressed, but I doubt he could do it live...

  • I know there's the issue of projection but his A1s are very strong.

  • Thanks for making this video, The Green Giant is Amazing! he's always been my favorite singer, I always wondered how low he could go. In his first commercial he only sang to D2.. so his range really increased over the years. I Hope we can find some more high notes from him.

  • Let's see if we can get a full two octaves from him! He should have no problem hitting at least F1.
