Holy God! They were great in Brooklyn!! The sound and their set was "ace" as they say. Best live show I have ever been to. Autechre understands that lack of visuals enhances your sense of hearing and I'm all for it. It's great to listen to amazing sound without having to watch people's attempts at coolness up on stage. But you could still see them illuminated by the LEDs and they looked pretty cool.

there is no "almost," all shows are unlit for good reason.

no need for visual showmanship when your sound is so unbelievably advanced.

heh! i went to a show in Atlanta (confield tour) where they just sat under the table the whole time smoking. they literally let the hardware run most of the time, I'll agree that's some BS.

still, I don't need to see anything to love their shows if the sound blows my brains out.

not like their live shows- mostly improv, each set in each town is pretty different.

and this tour they blew the fucking roof off. didn't even hit a sound remotely like quaristice until a good 40 minutes into the set (in brooklyn anyway.)

for the last 3 years autechre has almost always played new exclusive material and/or drastically different variations of their recent album material, so different its unrecognizable.

so no ae classics or even mostly identifiable Ae songs at all

Howya....if it's the same as the set they played in london last week, the only recognisable album song is "IO" from quaristice. The rest is all new....
