he had the balls to come......the gall to die........and THEN forgive us.......and ..yea i wonder why and what they thought the fornication of fear and religion would get us................200 years of sunday schoool 'til self reckoning. Michael
@AnimeKING1999 She's pretty when she tries. She's very much a hippie, but also a little gothic. She has her moments. Sometimes she looks amazing, sometimes she couldn't be bothered to put on a little eyeliner. You know?
I kind of listen to Johnette until I sort of can't listen any more, and then a few years later, come back again, and it is like a new love affair. I think that the Concrete Blonde years are magnificent, and will always be loved. Just love this song, but Joey is another favorite
"I told the priest, 'Don't count on any second coming; God got his ass kicked the first time he came down here slumming. . .he had the balls, the gall to die and then forgive us. No I don't wonder why, I wonder what he thought it would get us."
I have nothing but the utmost respect for this band:
Johnette Napolitano, excellent voice who wrote nearly all of what she sang & could hold her own when it came to playing guitar. These are qualities you don't see very much now a days.
Concrete Blonde is easily one of my top 3 bands of all time, with 'Bloodletting' being at the top of the album list from this group.
In my humble opinion, I am glad that this group maintains itself under the radar...it makes them all the more elite.
@22latino the only thing i know from CB outside of 'bloodletting' was the song 'mexican moon', which was ridiculously haunting and lovely. i always wondered if the album w/ that song was equal to 'bloodletting'.
i love this song - but i think i like 'caroline' best from this album.
you cant have "Bloodletting" without "Tomorrow Wendy"...and you cant have "Tomorrow Wendy" without "Bloodletting" ...the entire album is a masterpiece.
Camelvideo1 Jonette is absolutely my all time favorite female vocalist. I still remember when Bloodletting came out. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! She wrote the absolute quintessential song about vampires. Wow ,she is such an amazingly gorgeous woman!
I was a "late comer" to Concrete Blonde. Happened by chance to hear "Joey" on a local station one day, and sought it out. After catching up, I came to realize that "Joey" and "Tommorow, Wendy" are two I find special in my heart. "Tommorow, Wendy" is the one I cry over; this guy has no regrets in saying it, either. If it doesn't make you think about someone or something important to you, you're probably a lot colder than I am.
This song, which I've liked for long time, is really overshadowed by some of the crap that is coming out nowadays like Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, etc, etc - Seems like song has more emotions lyricly since it is based on an actual person.
this song is about a woman who committed suicide rather than suffer the rejection, abandonment and stigma of AIDS. nothing is more lonely than rejection esp. from your own family which, no doubt, this woman went through. sad song.
Yes, it was about a girl who died of aids, it was also for and about the many other nameless who have or will. It was talked about on one of her live albums and at some of her live performances.
Somebody once told me this song was dedicated to Wendy O. Williams. Not true at all, because this song came out in 1990 and Wendy O. Williams died in 1998.
@Braday723 if there was another word 4 poetry I'D use that word 4 this song. THANXS $ PAYIN' ATTENTION MUSIC FANZ!!!! MUCH LOVE.........HEATHER METAL!!!!!!!!!!!(BOWERS)
