Well first of all shes not 18, shes in her 20's. This is the miss usa pageant NOT teen usa. First of all her "opinion" and view point on gay marriage is bigoted. She believes that gay and lesbian americans don't deserve equal rights and protection under the law. She completed alienated millions of americans when she said that and therefore we have no respect for her views. We will not tolerate her prejudice any longer, it is regressive and damaging in the struggle for marriage equality.

I ask the same question to you then.....you argument is a valid one but...Why can't heterosexual couples just be together without a paper? Also, marriage is more of a religious institution so why should state/federal even recognize it? Gays getting married does not affect your marriage at all. It does nothing to delegitimize it, you do that on you own.

The point I was trying to make with marriage being a religious institution at its heart is....that we either recognize all or none. Separation of church and state should apply, if we are going to use the..."God says marriage is for heteros." If you use religion for your example and not a secular argument then you have to allow gay marriage, or no marriage. No marriage that is government recognized, of course, you can still be married by a preacher. It just will not be recognized by the USA.
