The three brothers are borderline immortal, the only thing the soul stones did was trap their souls within them while in Sanctuary. Once the soul stones are shattered it sends them back to hell. Baal corrupted the world stone, which destroys the border between Hell, Sanctuary, and Heaven. Meaning, they can come back. Play the game again, lose the smart ass attitude, and try to understand it this time.

Diablo 2 cinematics are superior to D3 which is really sad. One would expect with time and technology to see superior cinematics in D3 sadly this has not happend. As Blizzard North does not exist anymore alot of talent had left the company this new diablo3 looks good in game play but cinemantics are terrible, plus its drawing on cartoony feel again another WOW trait which is present in SC2 and D3... they have lost its way.

The soulstones are composed of hundreds of human souls that are used to bind them to the mortal plane. The three greater evils, Diablo, Mephisto and Baal keep their stones near them because if they're destroyed they cannot exist on the mortal plane.

agree with slashingravin here. Marius was one of my personal reasons for beating the acts, i wanted to know what he did and how he ended up in that hell hole. i also feel that his character is suppoed to be the "ordinary person" so to speak who gets caught up in this and CAN'T rise up to the challenge. (just feel that that is a bit more realistic). unfortunatly for me, i think i would've ended up in a similar position as him at the end.

Diablo did something similar with the wanderer who defeated him, feigning defeat while in fact simply carrying out his plan. @Ultimate600 The only way East was through the Act I Monastery gate. The demon queen, Andariel, was summoned by Diablo to block any pursuit. For her part, she hoped to win Diablo's favor. This is exactly what Cain says, in the game. As for Duriel, that part I can only speak for from my memories, and if they don't betray me, I think it was summoned by Tal Rasha, to guard the entrance to his tomb, as he'd sacrifice himself, shortly after, to imprison Baal.

@Notkeiran No, that is correct. Diablo, Mephisto and Baal are the 3 primary evils, and Andariel and Duriel are lesser ones. Duriel was the Lord of Pain, and Andariel the Maiden of Anguish, and besides them there were two other lesser evils mentioned, Azmodan and Belial. These 4, along with their armies tried to overthrow the 3. It seems my memory did fail me on one matter when I left that comment. It was actually Baal who summoned Duriel to the tomb, as punishment for his part in the plot.

@dyingcarmine Tyrael is an angel and he cant enter hell. He cannot destroy the soulstone because the hellforge is in hell. Also he cannot directly interfere in mankind's destiny.
