Actually it's the Japanese who cannot pronounce their L's because there is no L in the Japanese language, whereas there is in the Chinese language.

Still this is a funny part, and yes the local Chinese restaurant where I live is open til Midnight on Christmas day; a couple of servings of 北京烤鴨 (Peking Roast Duck) sounds good right about now!

Obviously it’s not exactly the same. But this reminds me of being a 6 yr old transplant to California. My Mexican friends laughed when I absolutely butchered “La Bamba” in music class. Fortunately the teacher didn’t wag her finger at them. She knew it was all in good fun & they all did their best to help me get it right.
