The Crusade is still awesome, I love songs like The Crusade, cause I can really appreciate the musical difficulty and such in a song like that, and other songs like Becoming the dragon were still awesome! They hit another road, to experiment I presume, to discover various sounds, still a real good album. I bet if The Crusade came 1st and we loved trivium for that style and then Ember to Inferno came for instance we'd all be like 'wtf, that aint trivium!' cause we were used to their other sound

Definitely.. Listen to some of Shogun, the technicality in just the main riffs. Whilst easy, Insurrection is one of the best riffs in the whole album, and to sing whilst playing that must be hard.

There are certain elements in songwriting, the DRUMMING is a big part, tempo, tonality, are all things that place you in a genre. Plenty of other things that do as well.
