  • The owner of the LFA I am sure can buy a GTR at will. The owner of the LFA is by choice and the owner for the GTR is his only choice. I own a LP640 and I know a modded GTR can most likely smoke me, but at the end of the day, I rather have the joy of people risking their life taking picture of my car on the freeway and stop lights. Don't get me wrong I always thought the GTR is an awesome car

    I'm an LFA fanboy, but it would also depend on the driver. The fact is, in a straight line, the GTR at its best does beat the LFA at its best.

  • @liyon316 Umm we have yet to see the 2012 GT-R on the track against the 2012 LFA.. Don't compare the 2011 GT-R on the Nürburgring now.. Even if the LFA is faster than the old GT-R, it is barely faster and its a V10.. You would expect a V10 to BLOW a V6 by over 40 seconds but it's pretty embarrassing if you ask me. The only thing thats good about the car is the F1 like sound and the exotic look.

    The point is simply a person who has a LFA can easily buy a GTR if he wanted to.  The same cannot be said about every person who has a GTR. That's where the GTR inferiority complex comes into play, b/c it's not about performance numbers anymore, it's about status... and that's where the GTR fanboys can't compete.

    Sheer performance numbers are one thing, but how the car feels when you drive it, how you feel when you're in it count for a lot. The mags claim that even if it's performance numbers aren't the absolute best, the LFA, without a doubt, feels damn special.

    Road & Track this month had test-drivers that stated they would favor a Camaro ZL1 over the GTR due to driving feel. Does that mean the GTR sucks compared to a Camaro now?? Of course not.

    End of year 2010 car comparisons in mags such as Evo, Car, etc... I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Personal tastes are always gonna be subjective and no doubt the GTR IS the best bang for the buck in high-end sports cars. All I know is that seeing an LFA in person, it just felt more special than the comparable ferraris, lambos, astons, R8s, etc... Though if I could get 2 cars, it'd be the LFA and the R8 V10!

    Besides, great performance numbers are nice to gawk at, but let's be honest, most of the drivers out there will never ever reach those stats. So trying to impress someone with numbers that you probably can't duplicate in reality on the road is pretty much a non-factor, imo.

  • egh both are great cars...but GT-R has gotten new tweaks every year to improve on it self though. LFA your paying for a lot of R&D and its a one off, its special and unique. plus LFA ran 7:22 on the Nurburg and GTR is now running similar times after all these years.

  • These comparisons make no sense. Yes they're two sports cars but on very different levels. Heavy car vs. light car; all wheel drive vs. rear wheel drive; natural aspiration via v10 vs. turbo charged v6; & the list goes on. The GTR represents BRUTE FORCE utilizing all wheel drive & high pressure turbos (the easier method of producing performance). The LFA represents technological innovation (producing horsepower through precision and innovative engineering). Is one better than the other. No.

    Umm.. The GT-R is not brute force. It has launch control, AWD, paddle shifters, Auto tranny, etc. It's a computer with an engine that basically drive's itself. I'd rather have a ZR1 or NSX with stick shift. Waaaay more fun.

Forced induction is an easier method to attain horse power than natural aspiration-it is brute force(turbocharged engines, in general, can produce a 100+ hp/liter). On the other had, engineering an engine to produce NA a 100+ horse power is not an easy feat (this is why Ferrari, Porsche, and so forth go the NA route). All those automated systems takes away from a driver's involvement. Two different routes of making a sports car. No winner.

  • Honestly, you can spend a million trying to upgrade your gtr... the fact of the matter is LFA is on a different level. There is no way you can replace the sound of the v10 with turbo boost or Ecu upgrades...

    If i had the money id buy both cars, huge fan of cars... however, if i was a musician the LFA would get to me everytime... its art on wheels.
