@Daemonarch2k6 iphone 2g's cpu is only a single core arm11 clocked at 412 mhz, and there isn't no hardware graphics acceleration. the graphics rendering is done by software (like the htc wildfire and other entry level android smartphone equipped with a 528 mhz cpu with no gpu) and relies on the cpu, and the ram is only 128 mb.
don' t be surprised of the slowness of this android port :)
i kinda like dat android on iphone maybe i should do one on mi own is it :-) nd haterz dont get mad cuz ya dont no how 2 do it so bye people call the cop cuz ya mad
Anyway, I installed iDroid on my iPod touch. It is a shame that it runs slowly, and lacks the Android market by default. I can't wait to see Android running on the iPhone 4/iPad. That would be so BAMF; Having both Oses would be sweet.
dual boot on an iphone haha I love it... I'd rather have wp7 and android 2.3 on a 4 inch super amoled screen with a 1.2 ghz processor and a LTE radio.
crazy...i like that you have a dual boot phone...i would be kinda freakd out if i saw that lol..a tip!!!! the 3g and 3gS have differant A class cpus.. froyo wont work on 3gs at the current time!!! the a4 cpu halts the code
This work on My iPod 4G Dont download it fucks Up iPhone/iPod really your just breaking it dont Even bother Cause i had to pay another £455 for my iPhone 4 and £200 for the iPod 4g so You break them Go ahead break them but wont be so funny
I'm seriously considering this due to how badly iOS4 runs on my old 3G (I use an iPhone 4 now, but the 3G is a spare). Do you think Android runs BETTER than iOS 4.1 on 3G?
@Makaveli3rd Because iPhone's crappy hardware cannot support Android OS properly. You can *emulate* Android on iOS, but it take years to boot up Android and lot's of Android core features & functions will not work. Lots of iPhone owner & Apple fanboys get it twisted:
iPhone owner - Your Android phone sucks. My iPhone can dual boot iOS & Android but your Android phone can't do the same.
Android owner - Sure it can, but does the shit work properly? 2nd, booting iOS on Android is like downgrading.
Oh please , only a retard would blame the iphone hardware for this , there are android phones less powerful than that.
This is all a driver issue , if people had the interest to code specific parts of the iphone (like the GPU for instance) to work with android then it would run just fine.
No. . . The iPhone has the same, if not better hardware than most android phones. iPhones and Android Phones both have 1GHZ CPUS (though there are a few androids with 600 MHZ CPUs), and the iPhone has an SGX 535, while other Android phones have lower SGX GPUs or even SGX lites. I can only think of two Android phones that have GPUs that are as fast as the GPUs on the iPhones. The hardware is very similar. I don't know where you get your "iPhone has crappy hardware" BS.
Next, neither Android is better than iOS. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. iOS has easier usability, a lot more apps, and lacks fragmentation/compatibility issues. Android has a lot more customization features, more unique features per phone, and better support for internet plugins.
I don't see why android owners are so pissed at the iPhone, and I don't see why iPhone owners hate android. They are both good phone OSes in their own right. Just fucking leave it at that
@outsider497 It's just a hobby to run around dual booting stuff, most Linux users refer to it as distro hopping, don't be mean on those who get android working on a calculator, it's all for the lols :D
Thats because Linux is an open source OS. Anyone can write it, make drivers for it, make applications on it, etc. Linux is one of the best (if not best) OS's out there.
I did all of this and now my iphone wont turn on. I think that the linux thing when i was doing the android boot, it might have messed up the boot loaders. But now it wont turn on, anything i can do?
i really really really want this on my 3GS and it to work 100% with camera, wifi etc. and even update to latest version! if all these work, it's like having a completely new phone!

@joe11fresh I used an old 2G iPhone, but the wiki states "3G iPhones are supported". I managed to install Open iBoot following the idroidproject wiki pages.
do u still have to use iTunes to Sync your music to the phone? can u get another link to download android, because this doesn't work... it says "There is currently no text in this page, you can search for this page title in other pages or edit this page." that's all u can find there.
Or you can save yourself a lot of trouble and a ton of money and just get an Android phone to begin with. You could always use your iPhone as a paperweight or a door stopper.
@ongchorcool not yet. wait for a port to the 3G and the wait for a reversal of the CPU and GPU ( if necessary ) and the OpeniBoot might come to the 3GS.

Quello nel video è un iPhone 2G con 4GB di spazio di archiviazione.
