  • Never saw this before. Great post. Was this to be part of the dvd package that I had read about a few years back that Colin Moulding was working on...that has never 'officially' seen the light of day? Wish an official dvd of the likes of this along with their singles videos would get released.

Come on someone out there....do it!

    Great band.

  • PS anchormoth: THANK YOU for posting this cool series of clips!

  • Is that Hugh Padgham engineering? If I remember correctly, it was him "knob twiddling", and Steve Lillywhite producing ...

  • Whoa! Great clip! Now if we could find a clean copy of "Play At Home" ... ??

  • Now, that's an amazing documentary. Thank you very much for posting it, man!

  • Terry Chambers what a legend "he plays drums and......space invaders". Best Chambers quote was from Melody Maker 3.11.1980 "ere do you reckon these fuckers in kaftans would have our 'ands orf if we asked for another drink?".

  • I just read some of the comments. I had no idea Richard was involved way back then. My hats off to you Richard for that. I was very disappointed when I heard Virgin dropped XTC who share my top band spot with the Police.

  • @youser96R XTC wanted to be dropped, which is why they didn't make any records for 6 years.

to answer your question in your other comment, this was done in 1980.

  • Very Cool! what kind of console is that?... Focusrite? I thing the tape machine is a Studer. What year was this done?

  • @youser96R It's a Helios console.

  • @youser96R Ampex mm1200 tape machine

  • They should give this plus the 'Play At Home' program an official DVD release.

  • @xtstevie Even a remastered internet only release would be nice for now since Play At Home was only broadcast once.

  • @oldmusicrevisited Sounds great to me dear friend !!

  • Parts were cut out at the end of each segment. :/ Still, Thanks for uploading.

  • Surprised that Colin had lessons - he has a style all of his own.

  • This is a recreation of the recording process as the song had already been completed at The virgin Townhouse! I was there the week it was broadcast on BBC.

    Great memories of the place.
