@art3ful Yes I did see the pictures and I have been trying to add some of my own,but to no avail yet.Still working on it.I think that it is a wonderful thing that Malcolm did for Lori. The pictures are beautiful, and so are all the wonderful comments people have left for her.Maybe there might be a way to leave a link to these videos or they could place them on the page so people who visit could hear the songs.Thank you... :)
@rosmia2 Yes, you're right, and also a fairly leading one in 'The Angry Breed', starring Jan Sterling and James MacArthur, where she gets saved from some motorcycle gang. I haven't seen it, but did see her in 'The Chase' with Brando, Fonda, Redford, Duvall, and Janice Rule. I'm glad I at least was able to see these pages before she passed on, as I liked her and didn't know what happened to her. She seemed to be a hard worker, always, such a good trait.
Hey, she was in my dreams, too! But having seen & heard this and other forums I didn't realize what a heart-throb Lori was! I didn't get to ride horses as much as I wanted, but did at times though living in city. To me Lori was down to earth sweet, attractive, and got to play the good person on National Velvet, sort of a heroine. A pretty gal with a fine horse out on a farm-ranch, etc.. What more can you ask for?! America has lost values since these great shows ended. Great Work, Lori!!!!!!!!
Yes, patriotic. Great positive stuff here, though. Some of the chords sound like those of Sergeant Barry Sadler's 'Green Beret' song, and the warmongers were gearing up everything to escalate the Viet Nam War about this time when this geat series, National Velvet, came along & this song came out.I like the idea of heterosexual themes esp. for patriotic songs.Lori would have done well with a major role as adult. Very good acting talent. Another overlooked potential. thanks, gene
I'm not sure what your comment means ( I assume you liked the show), but I started watching it because I had seen the movies and I liked horses. But I must add that she brought a lot to the movie and she did resemble Taylor a lot, which is why she was picked for the series.I hope you enjoyed the song an pictures.
Thanks so much, I didn't know she recorded anything until I read about this on another forum-discussion. This show was undoubtedly a positive influence on the U.S.. It came along as the gvt. warmongers were gearing us all up to escalate the Viet Nam War.
As I wrote in the other reply, Lori was kind of a heroine figure, and what better is there than a good example for kids to see!!!?? The programmers later gave us dark sentences for viewing as this and other good shows ended. Positive stuff!!!!
There is nothing wrong with being patriotic, and America has taken it on the chin for no reason at all.
It is a great nation, and the Media here and in America is hateful --
God bless this young lovely woman. God rest her soul. She was precious, and many people loved her.
I know I did.

Lori Martin's sister Jean Coulter has joined Malcolm James site and written some
beautiful memories of Lori. Please take the opportunity to join and let everyone
know this amazing woman will never be forgotten.

Mezskr4, if you join the Lori Martin site, you'll have no problem at all posting
photos or adding her songs. We would love to have you, plus join findagrave
and you can post there. One of my friends on the site just sent me a package
of photos she copied from the ones we have all shared. They turned out
fantastic. I hope to see you there.

Paul Peterson left a very nice message on Malcolm James website on findagrave.
Also James has a site dedicated to Lori, you'll see some fantastic photos of her.

Don't forget to see the opening and credits of a National Velvet series at 'National Velvet 1960's Television Series with Lori Martin'.
Incidentally, the rhythm in this song reminds me of horse riding. It's well matched to the singer.

@gnsback She did have a major role in Cape Fear with Robert Mitchum.

Apparently Mann & Weil were on a bit of a patriotic kick in 1963, which was also the year that "Only In America" was a hit.

I do not remember that song, but thank you for that information. They did produce many great songs.
