  • Hello. I want to join an RCA cabel to an audio jack cable. The RCAs have a red core and a white core each surronded by bare copper conductors, is that the earth? So do I have to connect the bare coppers together aswell or can i just ignore them ??

  • I have a Question. What if I have only one line -Positive- only. Can I be able to connect it to the middle place only and leave the negative free?

  • @elementaldesigns i have a video rca cable and a 3.5mm cable i want to attach them to use for cam corder.

    Please reply ASAP

  • Excellent work!

  • If you're going for sound quality by making gold plated cables like this; I would suggest reading up on proper soldering technique. The technique you have used here is going to produce very poor quality joints. You should be heating the wire and the plug, and touching the solder to the wire/plug, NOT the iron like you are doing here. Placing the solder on the plug beforehand is also a big no no!

Guaranteed in a few years these cables will stop functioning if flexed at all because of bad joints!

  • Does anyone Know how to turn a Coax to RCA cable. i had cox cable to the back of my tv, but my kids broke where i connect my coax to the back of the tv and i only can use the tv thru the front wich is the yellow white and red RCA cables. Any ideas would be appreciated.

  • @BrutexxForce You have probably figured this out by now but it is called a modulator. It can converter coax signals to rca. $30 at radio shack i think.

  • What about the shield? Some say the shield and ground should be connected...

  • i bought my RCA leads for 5 bucks haha

  • hi, can you teach me how to connect a single channel output(subwoofer) from a 5.1 amp to 2 RCA inputs on a stereo amp(and later 2 subs to it), there is any problem if making an Y connection or it needs resistors??

    thanks and great vid =D

  • I used to do things like that since I had 10 years...so it`s not a big deal:))

  • whats that noise in the backround?

  • who gives a shit

  • What would the benefits be of making your own RCS rather than just purchasing a pair of street wires or what not? Next to cost?

  • Well you can make custom lengths first of all, which is nice because sometimes you don't have enough or too much...too much extra cabling can cause interference if it's clumped together.

And as you said, the cost is less with the quality higher.

  • not always to the exact size you want and you can always buy really high quality connectors and cable in bulk and save yourself some money over the brand name shit and its always fun to do things by yourself eh?

  • I don't think your soldering station is over kill at all, buy the best you can afford and the end result will be a much better job and will save money and time in the long run

  • I think this may be canare. It depends on the quality of cable you want. If your making really high quality cables it will be cheaper to make them. If you just want something to connect 2 ends cheaply it's probably going to be less costly to buy online or retail.

  • hi what is the kind of cables called and is it cheeper to make your won cables than it is to buy them?

  • Very Nice Video!!!

But you never showed the 4 Channel wire like you said at the Begining of the video
