This is going to be pretty much my exact setup in a week. Getting an insanely similar S. The S540 MIJ from 97 which is almost exactly the same as this guitar. I have a 6505 and getting a bad monkey the same day i get the guitar. Pretty stoked.

stock ibanez pickups are nothing. yea the stock ones in this particular model sound better then some others ibanez and other companies put in stock, but compared to mid level pickups like dimarzio and duncan, or further more, high end brands such as bare knuckle, etc, they are pretty bad.

you adjust to the single coil and it doesn't really become a problem at all. as far is this vs the s2170fb, this guitar is made in japan, and the s2170fb is made in korea, which typically leads to less quality control. also this is 24 frets, and the s2170fb is 22.

I have a request because I'm thinking to buy myself this guitar very soon.Now I know it's a bitch to change tunings with a floyd rose but can you do a simple E,D# or D tuning and play some clean passages and some technical stuff with a light distortion, because by playing these death metal riffs I can't understand the versatility of the guitar, all I hear is drrar drrar which can be made with a 50 $ piece of shit when tuned 4-5 steps down.Just play some different things.
