  • @Vineon well I live in Manitoba, the province formed by Louise Riel and can vouch for the very opposite of what you just said. French culture and pride is very evident here and most people can trace their routes back to the French/Metis or Ukrainians. There are many small towns within the province that only speak French and the vast majority of people here are bilingual. The largest festival in the province is Festival du Voyageur which happens every year in Winnipeg.

  • Québec being a nation is a sociological fact. You don't spit on that because you feel there shouldn't be a 'nation within a nation'. You recognize the fact and you move on.

Besides, my take is Québec is easily more perceptible as a nation than English Canada ever was. Who in hell can tell Jim Carey, William Shatner or Pamela Anderson are Canadians without being told so. Nobody, that is. The one day a Frenchman confuses a Québécois with one of his own hasn't yet come.

  • i love Quebec :)

<3 jvous aime tous xx

  • maybe do a little research on the history of Canada before you feel qualified to make such an ignorant comment.

  • @TheShadowParliament Quebec is as Canadian as any other province in Canada. It shouldn't be considered a nation within a nation at all, it should just be considered Canada like any other province. Quebec and French culture is a big part of what it is to be Canadian, it separates us from the idiots south of the border, which for some reason i suspect you are from there given the level of ignorance your comment spews.

  • @conday1990

Before asking others to look into history, you might want to attempt not to sound like an ignorant yourself. That Canada prides itself in bilingualism and calls it of its major cultural difference with the US of A is a joke. Most Canadians aren't bilinguals. In fact, that is nearly the case of every English Canadian living outside Québec. English Canadians know nearly nothing of French culture and vice versa. There has never been much sharing, this united utopia never existed.

  • Quebec needs to be a country, not a damn 'Nation within a united Canada'. The whole thing is a conspiracy to keep Quebec as a part of Canada. I know a good friend from Quebec, she does not consider herself to be Canadian at all. Never, she tells me the only way Quebec can gain true freedom is through Canadian annexation by the United States of America.

    Le Québec libre!

  • @TheShadowParliament Your so-called good friend in Quebec is one of the bottom-feeders, then. Annexation? WTF? Tell your good friend, she's a Canadian. Always was, always will be. Learn English, drop the (poor) French, and suck it the fuck up.

  • @killykash Never, I won't call her a second class citizen. Canada's fate is to be annexed into America, you would not be so high and mighty if you said something like this in real life instead of on a website. Hide behind the YouTube account, and reply like I imagine you will do. Or be someone up front and do more than just gripe, your in the wrong video category. This is Quebec freedom, if you want something for you then go to the loyalist page.

  • What a wonderful song. I think it really speaks volumes about a society when its anthem is a thing of beauty written by a poet-songwriter, and not some militaristic marching song.

  • Spanska kuken

  • @bluewolftheory as your face. :)

  • @bluewolftheory spreading your witless ignorance all over youtube being the best example of the redneck ontario mediocrity--the days of unilingual retards taking jobs here are over

  • @hyurgy321 Take it easy, not all Ontarians are assholes. I was born and raised in Ontario and I personally don't think Quebec is all that bad, and I can speak THREE languages lol

Although, I moved to Sweden with my wife (she was born there, moved to Ontario and then wanted to move back to Sweden because she missed her family)...so technically I'm not Ontarian, I suppose.

  • @hyurgy321 You think so? I've been in Quebec now since 1991. I've never been on Quebec's welfare, nor have I ever had to resort to food banks, which is really part of Quebec Culture. Isn't that right? So shut the fuck up. If it wasn't for us Anglos, your useless sack of shit frenchies would have had to get the fuck out decades ago. Olé that!

  • @killykash

I read a few of your comments and they reek ignorance and worse.. racism. You do not know anything about Québec starting with this comment making a relation between food banks and Québec culture and ending by a suggestion that the Québécois should drop their language....

What's really amazing is that you probably believe yourself representative of a collectivity, but your little hatred isn't representative of much. Thankfully, there aren't too many of your kind.

  • @bluewolftheory Sexual orientation is irrelevant here.

  • Simplemente hermoso este himno!

  • no offence, but isnt Quebec part of Canada?

  • Comment removed

  • @Goldthehedgehog55 Yes, what do you mean "no offence"?

  • @battycys Normans history. Normans, descended from Norse Viking conquerors of the territory(Old Neustria-part of Frankish empire) and the native population of( Frankish and Gallo-Roman) stock. After 2 generations, the population spoke mostly Romanic-old french. William the conqueror spoke French with a few words of old Norse. But even then, Normans are a nations in France, and France dont recocnize them...French canadien are around 18% Norman descent. A lots of same words and same accent.

  • National anthem of Quebec my ass...

    It's a PROVINCIAL SONG RETARDS

    He sounds gay

  • @brontemark

Québec is certainly factually a nation, even recognized by your own Canadian government. So yeah, it can have a 'national anthem', although this one has never been officially recognized as such.

  • @Vineon My own gov't or OUR own gov't?

It was recognized as a distinct society, not a country, and btw,I have lived there and loved it.

    Quebec is NOT a country,it's a province.Bottom line,end of story.

    P.s.-that is a horrible song.At least get a better one,like Oh Canada!

  • @brontemark

It was recognized as a NATION which is the same term you used. Not a country, not a society.

Now Québec is not a country, but a nation certainly.

We in Québec made the 'Oh Canada' anthem, just so you know. Apparently the Brits couldn't come up with their own.

  • @Vineon The Maple leaf forever...

  • It was actually Queen Victoria's representative, the Lieutenant Governor of kweebek-province, who commissioned "O Canada". Lavallée, who moved from Canada to the USA when he was 15, composed the music when he was 38 and living in Boston. Mr Vigneault's charming little ditty perfectly suits its unofficial status as the "provincial anthem" of kweebek-province, doubling as a kweebekwaa alternative to "Happy Birthday". And it's still a Canadian province, not a nation by any stretch, silly boy.

  • @caramelorb

It was a song composed for the St-Jean-Baptiste Society and had for motive to celebrate French Canadians, simply called 'Canadians' at the time.

Lavallée was a Québécois still and so was the man who wrote the original lyrics. The "Brits" didn't want a Canadian anthem anyway, they were perfectly satisfied with their 'God Save the King'.

Québec being a nation is a sociological fact, one that even your country and it's House of Commons recognized.

  • @caramelorb

I'm not sure how fit Vigneault's song is to become an official anthem (I would prefer something else) but it kind of follows the usual path national anthems take to become official. Rarely is an hymn composed to become an athem, it is usually a song gradually adopted by the people and considered such before being finally officialised.

  • Comment removed

  • @Vineon No, it is NOT recognized as a nation. This is a self-recognition, not agreed or accepted by the rest of the country.

  • @killykash

Wake up darling. It was voted and passed at your country's house of commons. Your majority of MPs voted in favour, the current PM Stephen Harper voted in favour.

It's in the books, Canada recognizes the 'Québécois' as a nation.

  • i love quebecios ppl

  • Fuckin' pendejos...

  • You are kidding, Racial statistics are banned in census in france so noone can prove racial discrimination, you cannot have the figures for normans as you are not allowed to idientify them in official census

  • France is the only countries which has not rectified European charter on minority language,

Normans in France are not counted as France banned racial census . You are an idiot as you do not have the census statistics for Normans in the first place.

  • Comment removed

  • Normans in France are french and speak french .... nothing to add.

  • @MichaelJordan305

You are an Idiot and have no clue of the Ethnic minorities in France.

There are at least 7 languages and national minorities suppressed by the Jacobin republic since at least 150 years : Brittany (Celt), Euskadi (Basques), Normandy, Catalan, Corsica, Occitan, Alsace/Lorraine, Flams just as examples....

    Go back to your cave

  • @KorriganSweden True, and i find so hipocrite that most catalan independentists ( and i am one of them) want Quèbec to separate of Canada , considering that they speak the language of a country that eliminates its own minorities.

  • @breizhcatalonia1993

    What awful rhetoric.

You have the biggest hard-on for the British in your profile. Are you disregarding the fact that English has and still is replacing all other local languages that originate in the British Isles? Welsh? Gaelic? Scot?

What France did to impose French on its entire territory, resulting in the marginalisation of local languages has nothing whatsoever to do with Québec, regardless that Québec shares with it the French language.

  • @Vineon Yeah I know.

I support self determination, and i want the independence of certain nations, but i just don't share the feelings with some ones ( like the UK ones) . There are hundreds of indepndentisms in europe, and in most they aren't majority (except, catalonia, corsica, basque country....)

I have nothing against france, just was pointing out,it was a criticising to certain sectors of catalan independentism that base their independentism in hate other nations, and to France, not to

  • @Vineon Quèbec ;)

PD: During last days i have had changes of opinion in the matters of quèbec because i never started to think that seriously till two or three weeks ago but now definetly suport your independence.

  • The mother language of Normans is different not French. Check the tapestry and mappa mundi

  • @battycys loool. Normans speak french.

  • The mother language of Greeks are definitely not French

  • @battycys "Brainwashed Normans" in France, who believe in France and its language, are approximately 100 % of the norman population in France. Your ancestors could be of another religion and speak an another language, they are still your ancestors, and you are still who you are and you still speak your language, even if it's not the same as your ancestors. Now, get a life instead of polluting Youtube, thank you :)

  • Normans are French ? You have got to be kidding. THEIR MOTHER LANGUAGE IS DEFINITELY NOT FRENCH

    see tapestry and mappa mundi

ONLY BRAINWASHED NORMANS believe their mother language is French.

ALL THE QC SWEAR WORDS TELL US that ANCESTORS WANTED TO TELL their descendents IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS TO IGNORE THE birth registers,

    THEY WERE NOT FRENCH CATHOLIC

LISTEN TO THEIR DESPERATE SHOUTS AS THEY WERE SUPPRESSED BY FRENCH !!! to stay in farms to give French 10% farm tax.

  • The mother language of Normans is definitely NOT FRENCH.

The swear words from ancestors in Qc, TOLD THE WORLD AND THEIR DESCENDENTS THAT THEY were definitely NOT FRENCH CATHOLICS.

  • @battycys Can you STFU ? You don't like french, ok, but there is no need to post comments like this on each french-canadian video of youtube. And actually, Normans are French, Normans are proud to be and speak French.

Long live Canada and Quebec ! Greetings from Mexico!

  • @sasprawler Great! I'm proud of what you say! Just put the Québec out of canada! We'll be happy of it!

  • @THELASTHUMAIN we'll be happy too :D

  • POCHE !!!

  • At certain points in Qc's history. there were more churches than the number of priest authorised by the Vatican. The French Church was given sole task of maintaining birth registers of all Christians. Given the birth registers were not maintained by ppl sworn to priesthood 24/7, the accuracy of all the entries in these registers cannot be certain.

All we know is according to registers, 99% were marked down as Fr Catholic births when migration were from Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands, England !

  • J'AIME LE CANADA FRANÇAIS... J'AI TOUJOURS ENVIE DE LE VISITER!! SALUTATIONS DISTINGUÉES DÉS L'ARGENTINE (L'AUTRE FIN DE NOTRE CONINENT). BIENTÔT J'IRAIS AU QUÉBEC...

  • Maps were SPECIFICALLY INCLUDED in the censorship laws which were enforced in France, Quebec, Senegal , Geneva and Belgium since 16th Century.

France included lands which were not in France in its censorship laws.

Essentially anywhere where that was some French spoken even though they might be in someone else country.

No map relating to Quebec could be trusted due to centuries of censorship

We know for sure NOONE WAS EVER BORN FRENCH IN NEW FRANCE as a result of Revocation of Edict of Nantes

  • The history of Quebec was controlled by laws introduced by Francois 1er,

NOTHING IN QUEBEC'S HISTORY written in French could be trusted.

Jaques Cartier was born a British subject and had dual nationality.

As he was British at birth and only French after Christening, he was a BRIT LONGER than a French.

No babies were born in so called New France as French. All so called French babies were born with only one nationality - British.

Fr nationality only applied jointly with Br at Christening.

  • are hispanics treated well in Quebec?

  • @RememberApostrophes ill treat ya right!

  • @RememberApostrophes every race is equal in quebec

  • @661Sunshine

Are you kidding me? If that were true, why does Quebec still have fascist language laws?

  • @kevinofangloquebec Language isn't a race. A human can be black, white, any race and speak French.

  • @DofS1 @Kevinsufacation @kevinofangloquebec @kevin99291 @kevinml1 @DofSproductions

Kevin es-tu capable de préciser ta penée ? What do you mean by fascist language law ?

  • @661Sunshine Yeah if every race had same color skin that is white. I have been to Quebec about 4 times and I am Indian decent and I really have to say only part of Quebec that isn't racist is Montreal!!!!!!

  • @SBPS20002 Everywhere I've been in India people are very racist.

  • @661Sunshine I sure believe that (sarcasm)! It is know by statistics that Europeans and their descendants are more likely to be racist then any other race/ethnic group in the world. So before you open your mouth think about what you are going to write down before sounding like an idiot. I have families in Canada and I have nothing against white people but you have understand, just because you different doesn't give people the right to be rude people. Is it just a French thing to snub everyone!

  • Normans who think their first and only language is French are brainwashed idiots or suppressed retards. Check Tapestry and Mappa Mundi, three languages used by Normans, none of them was French. French was at most fourth ranked language for Normans. Any Norman who thinks French is his or her first language is very very very ignorant.

  • Ora ! Ora ! What is the point when not reflected WITHOUT facts proving cultural diversity.

  • V,

FRENCH HAS BEEN PROVEN NOT TO BE THE NORMANS FIRST THREE CHOICES OF LANGUAGE.

    Tapestry 1070AD Latin

    Mappa Mundi 1290AD Latin, Anglo-Norman

(the French copied the more latin correct spellings of the Normans and thus often it has been described as Norman French but we know the major revisions of French dictionary was in 1300AD AFTER THETWO WORKS OF ART.

so the Anglo-Nornan counts as English.)

Show me 2 pieces of Natives art one dated before 1070AD

and another one dated before 1290AD.

  • I love this song. It's all about peace, love and understanding. People have got to stop hating. We're one, and though we're not the same, we're one.

  • I'm not Quebecer or anything, but I think Canada would miss Quebec if they seperated, maybe thats why they put them down sometimes.

  • @uglybitch49 i know right they just want to seperate quebec from canada

in plus they got jealous when prince william and kate came to the hospital in montreal

  • @Randomlegonerf24

"in plus they got jealous when prince william and kate came to the hospital in montreal"

What the fuck are you talking about. Jealous of what?

  • Free the descendents of Normans who had a rich non-French heritage and now brainwashed to think their language is French , the language of the suppressors of highly cultured Normans,

  • @battycys

Hopefully you think the same for the many north american natives that now speak english rather than their ancestral languages.

  • Only Normans brainwashed by French use French only and consider French as their first language.

French has been exploiting Norman children by entering them as French.

French schools should be converted to Norman schools.

    Mappa Mundi which is multilingual showed, Norman's language of tuition were;

Latin, Norman and English (Anglo-Norman) NOT FRENCH

ANY NORMAN DESCENDENT taught with French as first language have been deprived of an heritage which is NON-FRENCH !

  • @battycys English is not a Norman language. Also alot of Normans speak a dialect of French as the first language some speak closley related Oil languagese for an example Norman that was influenced by Old Norse the common language of the Scandinavians vikings also French as whole has been influenced by Norse as well.

English is a west Germanic language but was influenced by French and the Anglo-Norman language( exitinct)

English has also been influenced by Norse and Celtic languages.

  • Ban dual citizenship BEFORE next Canada Day.

  • fk the english canadians & fk the federals

    Go Q.c

  • This is such a peaceful song, I can't see why some people keep hating on Quebec, I'm ashamed of Canada when I hear so much hatred. I live in Montreal, I am Canadian, but I'm also proud of being from Quebec. I am proud of my province, and nobody can take that away, but should you be proud of loving a country by bringing down fellow provinces?
