  • quentin tarantino LOVES Hisself some white stripes

  • IM GLAD THEY SPLIT UP

it's always better if a band splits up when they are still amazing than splitting up when they have become bad.

  • we are gonna miss u :(

  • i have listened 2 many versions.. bt dis is 1 f ma favourites... incredible...

  • NICE NICE NICE!!!

    :D

  • meg white.... ohhh my how huge is it.... can i grab it? hehehe

  • 83 people don't have a story to tell

  • jesus did he do that on an acoustic?

  • @miraeja Semi Acoustic (a late 1950s Style Kay Hollow body guitar) Digitech Whammy Pedal set down 1 octave into amp and I don't know if its the late 1970s Fender Twin Reverb and/or Sear Silvertone 6x10. There are other pedals he uses, but Digitech is what is used on this song.

  • @tazzboy77 thanks for the info! you seem like a total expert. i tried plugging my acoustic pickup into an ni guitar rig but it sure didnt sound like THAT lol

  • @miraeja shout I was looking at Kay guitar that are practically dirt cheap you could get one between $200 and $300 dollars.

I should mention that he didn't record the song on silvertone it was Selmer Truevoice zodiac Twin 30.

in fact if want try to hunt down the copy of June 2003 Guitar Player with Jack White on the Cover and talks about what he use on the Elephant Session for recording.

  • 83 people didnt like red

  • 83 couldn't hold back the seven nation army

  • lol he messed up 0:33

  • @MoScreamo10 Does anybody except you even care !?

No ... its way to epic for us to care about one mess up !

  • @0KatanaCoD4 i really like the white stripes they are one of my favorite bands in alternative rock.

  • whats the song after seven nation army called ? or is it just a spin off

  • @GuitarJK1988 lol, its in the describtion ,, my bad

  • @GuitarJK1988 that is Son House 'Death Letter'. Jack's favorite artist. Stripes did a studio version on De Stijl. Recommended buy that album, preferably on vinyl... if you don't have a record player, sell you car and buy one.

  • @monkeyrocketsurgeon

Yh i got a record player ill look into it ;) thanx

  • Tarantino loved it.

  • they make quite the duo.

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • whats on his pinkie i noticed it in the music video

  • @WExPLAYxAIRSOFT its prolly the slide he uses on the main riff of the song. a slide gives him a certain sound. you wear it on ur pinky finger and you slide it up and down the neck of the guitar to give you a certain sound.

  • fucking awesome

  • meg white is hot!

  • @danee8888 she's hot in that bitchy ex-wife kinda way

  • @retroguy02 indeed.

  • sad moment at 4:37 :(

  • I remember this day like it was yesterday. I was waiting all day for this and had heard that were playing Death Letter at rehearsal but I didn't think they were going to play it live. This was a great day for Rock and Roll.

  • rock n roll aint dead

  • How does one even define this music. Jack and Meg may have single handedly saved Rock and Roll. Amazing...raw...emotional...orgazmic.

  • @PLA0242 They are not alone.

    Theres JOSH FUCKIN HOMME!

  • jack's voice is soooo mad in this vid.

  • quentin tarantino LOVED IT!!

  • listen my version of this song is in my chanel

  • I remember watching this live and thinking HOLY SHIT!!! I had no idea Jack White was such a fuckin BEAST on the guitar, i've been riding his jock hard ever since then (no homo)

  • Music like this exists.. and people are listening to Jutin bieber and Miley Cyrus... What's wrong with the world?...

  • I remember watching this on tv when i was 14. I thought the solo was FUCKING AMAZING, best thing i'd ever seen on tv. Its good to watch it again.

  • great to see a bro & sis get a long .

  • great song

  • best band ever !

  • Ich kann das genauso spielen^^ Ist nicht schwer^^

  • Great song but i hate the lighting problem on stage. To bright,

  • How in the hell did these guys get famous?

  • are they only 2?? i thought they were 3 or 4 ...

  • @19Fenja89 Nope, they have only ever been two. Just Jack White and Meg White.

  • Haha if you like this video, watch our cover of it. We learned this song in 10 minutes. Please tell us what you think (just go to my page)

  • Meg is a quick thumpin idiot ! bleah...

  • The drumming and the singing r great!! Love the middle part when it changes. Cheack out my page and videos

  • OH MY GOD I used to hate this song live, but now that I think about it it's one of their best live ones!!

  • Fantastic

  • 0:33 Jack Screws Up

  • shut up loser

  • @indegruv no he did not.

  • @Frankieh16 I know this

  • awesome? k.. whatever you say fanboy

  • why is this sooooo fast...the slower original sounds better, i think.

  • que fino!!!!

  • Sad he doesn't play the solo to seven nation army

  • thank you

  • @Shamblesparty : De'stjil is it named.

  • what album is death letter from?

  • de stijl

  • Why is the tempo so fast?

  • because its the white stripes and live! duh. haha

  • The guy is a genius. I'm jealous...

  • I love the audience at the end. If they ain't smiling and clapping after that scorching performance, then those people not clapping and smiling are clueless morons.

  • jack white is a legend !

  • in my opinion the most important part of bands is the members and their songs, you need members or a member to create songs and instruments arent really that necessary just look at barbershop quartets wel anyway thats my opinion

  • 7Nation Army is my favorite song :D!!!!!!!!!

  • @Jacksonrhcp they are just that good. plus bands dont need bassists. just like guitars arent necessary

  • @nirvanamkp how do bands not need bassists? are you lost lol

  • Comment removed

  • @Jacksonrhcpoctive pedal

    bass notes

    octive pedal

    palm mutes

so many ways to play without a bassist

  • how doesnt a band play without a bassist? (anyone see dead weather oral history ha)

  • The same way that Local H does.

  • Well there is this band, see and they call themselves The White Stripes, see and this guy in the band named Jack White he plays his guitar through on octave shift thingy called a Whammy pedal and does the low bass parts and the high rhythm and solo parts all himself. They are pretty good, I think they are on the youtubes here somewhere...

  • If I could just find that guitar I could sound like that. I think I'll see if I can buy one. I should spend my time on the internet instead of practicing an instrument. And yeah Meg is hot!

  • god megs fuckin hot

  • Love the solo.

  • son of a bitch, you´re gay

  • allways top metal

  • Abgefahren..!!..Wie der gitarre spielt..geil!!!:P

  • i love meg =]

  • white stripes is so genious. hope their new album appears in 2010

  • do they have a bass?

  • @Nirvaaanaa nah there is no bass player

  • ahh ok....

  • jacks fucking flawless

  • Ahh, I remember watching this on tv and getting all excited for it when they showed the commercials they were playing. I even made my parents watch, I don't think they were into it too much but I loved it. That's because I was a cool 12 year old :) now(most) 12 year olds listen to disney bands. What a shame.

  • Kids are supposed to stick to kids stuff. Don't blame them for what they should really "dig" into.

But White Stripes rock, and I know this band since I was 14 or so.

  • So true. Listen to music is often a process, you start with something and end up with a completely different one, at times

  • @luizfpa i have 15 and i make a diferent version of this song listen please

  • @brittanynoel22 I'm twelve now and I love this band

  • @brittanynoel22 Not me atleast

    AC/DC IS TEH BOMB

  • @brittanynoel22 well done you are a so sophisticated guy you listened to rock since 12, wow. what all the guys with such comments want to do, show off? what if i say i was born and raised with scorpions ,pinkfloyd, led zeppelin etch because my dad was a crazed rocker since his early youth, i become awsome or sth? these things just happen and it's also a matter of natural tendency. as for the youth today they are not retarded lady gaga or disney fans they are just given different incentives.

  • @brittanynoel22 yess i totally agree i'm 12 and i like MUSE, Franz Ferdinand, The White Stripes, Crash Kings, Wolfmother,Seabird, Flyleaf just to name a few and it's embarrissing to hear kids my age name their fav. artists and it's usually: Justin bieber, miley cyrus, lady gaga, ect. but i also play drums so i also like good instrumentals and meaningful lyrics which most kids dnt care for

  • @brittanynoel22 listen my version is heavy metal C:

  • @brittanynoel22 Yeah man my mom and watched this and i was nine and loved it my moms canadian so she got me into it

  • did he make a mistake at 0:33 ?

  • @steelfudge think so it looks like he didnt go far enuf on the fret board

  • love the way he plays the guitar, definitely a god.his voice is electrifying

  • I love the way he sings this one

  • =D hooray for boobies!

  • Put the group Wolfmother together with these 2 it would be Heaven on Earth.

  • The two best bands produced this century.

  • screws up at 0:33 but others awesome!

  • i cut my dick of to play like that

  • Now would you?

  • Who wouldn't

  • iI@a1rman93 Well, it's one of the easiest guitar tabs I know. And I've been playing guitar for like 5 months.

  • her boobs jiggle when she plays. awesome.

  • makes the show even better

  • comment dire: c'est le top!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTt

  • no one can jerk tht guitar better than jack white

  • jack is this generations "music" lol. i dont see anyone else in 3 different bands putting out good rock.

  • he turned a fail into a win :D

  • ok, it's awesome.

  • thats like the coolest guitar solo ever!

  • The drummer is awesome.

WE NEED MORE GIRL DRUMMERS IN ROCK BANDS.

  • Meg White

  • um SKILLET!

  • Uma das melhores bandas do mundo!

  • the drummers pretty damn good

  • UGH *creams pants* :D

absolute PERFECTION. Jack is this generations Jimi :)

  • not even close.

  • Note the classification 'this generations'. In that context, do you have a candidate?

Jack is all that and more my friend...

  • i love this band..

    jack is awesome!!!!

    love yaaaa

  • amazing for 2 pple in one band making a awsum song. and so simple but amazing tune

  • meg white sucks at drumming. i like jack white though

  • doesn't sound very good live, could just be poor sound system i guess

  • Its pretty much bad sound system. Jack's amp is a 1970 something Sears amp. And his guitar is really really old. He explains all that stuff in It Might Get Loud. But im not saying it would be perfect if he had a better sound system either.

  • @TheSFGIANTSFAN yeah but that is his style, that's what makes him sick and cool as hell

  • It's a 1960(ish) Kay hollow body played through a 1965 Sears Silvertone 1485 tube amp, and it is the best tone ever! 'Doesn't sound very good'?? Are you crazy?? It's the lo-fi-chunky garage rock-turned Chicago blues sound. Sweet buttery tone from God. Not for everybody though I guess...

  • jack white is a musical genius!

  • nice save jack

  • 0:33 error xD

  • live variation

  • Lol Quintin Tarentino loved that shit, and so did i :D

  • 1:50 From my balls??? isn`t it: From my heart??

  • i bet there is "From my bones"

  • live variation. u see a lot of live bands? mix it up?
