@poopalarge and anyone else reading this. I had the Megelli, I now own the Ninja 250R. There is simply no comparison. These guys have been very kind to it. I'm surprised its a 250cc, It has the performance of a well under powered 125. Its not reliable and its not built well either. Megelli, british company, but made in China. Never EVER seen a good review of it. Theres a reason they sell new for half the price of a second hand Ninja!
I've got the 'sachs' Megelli 250 here in indonesia...its the same as the one you have in the US. Its much slower than the Ninja, but the price difference is around $2000, the roads are less supportive of real riding here too . There is no doubt the Ninja is far superior, but if your going for speed get the 150...2 stroke, you can get that going faster than the 250 by along way, and its a fraction of the price
@revadimarco It strongly depends on where you live in Indonesia, I live in Surabaya and here the roads fine, but I commute in the city only. The Megelli is a poor mans bike, it's build quality becomes apparent the moment you touch the fairing, the plastic is so thin and cheap it's ludicrous. If you have the money to spend buy the Ninja 250R, it's build far exceeds the Megelli, which is nothing beyond a thin veil of looks.
@roffy89 I agree with you 250 cbr rr the old school! The walks up to any of these bikes and kawasaki 250 megelli now. Surely the new yamaha 250 R4 is the new mini missile all these bikes.
@speedadict74 most new 250cc bikes are restricted due to the license requirements of most countries to around 45 horse power (estimate) so we will never be givin a mini missile again sadly.... but that just makes you wana hurry though your license to get that big R1 or what ever you dream of riding quicker :)
i never heared of that brand of bike Megelli , and of course ninja is better but wtf ... i didnt learn anything about that bike.... one sided review , i would NOT trust these guys to make me a sandwitch!
@MrGhirbo they made a video reviewing the Megelli a few months before this video was uploaded. /watch?v=e674flryxBg&feature=g-vrec&context=G20f1495RVAAAAAAAAAA
The ninja 250 hasn't always been liquid cooled? This guy doesn't know shit if he doesn't know that they've all been water cooled, except maybe for the one year they made a japan only version of the bike that was totally different than its successors. Certainly all the way back to 88 they were water cooled!
My mate hay the efi megglie the only sport version efi in australia an my other mate has a 250 ninja the megglie is good for short ppl same with the ninja megglie gas faster take off tops out bout 140 km ninja bout 170ish over all the maggelli is more enjoyable
Ninja 250r is a much better bike on all accounts! I looked at both options but ended up with the ninja and couldn't be happier! Check out my channel for some videos of my ninja and happy riding everyone!
@mrOthervideos I only just got my ninja a week ago and I'm still running in the engine but I havent had any vibrations or anything so far.... and I imagine I'm too busy concentrating on my riding to notice if there are any lol!
@bingung182 Not Ninja ZX250 I think, it's Ninja 250R. ZX only used is supersport and superbike class of Kawasaki, i.e Ninja ZX-6R, ZX-10R, and ZX-14R. Well, Ninja 250R is have the highest top speed compared to CBR or Megelli, while CBR have a good low-mid torque. Correct me if I wrong :)
End if the day it's still a Chinese bike the megelli... There rep is shit as. Trust me you'll save more in the short long term if you buy the kawa, only good thing bout megelli is looks, but up close you see it's cheapness :S
i dont sees anything good from the megelli except that it has a cheaper price (chepaer quality though) and a nice look (wel, this is how you do when you combine a ducati, MV, and any other soprtsbike design).
furthermore,. Megelli is one of the most disapointing bike performance aver in my country. the bike will broke after several use, and it has a very strong vibration. (like youre riding a 2000cc engine) anyway, those with less money will buy megelli, and then ralize that it will cost u more
@TheOnlyCoolestGuy111 In my country, this bike have 3 version; 250r, 250re (liquid cooled added), and the latest version; 250rv (equipped with Fast Ace Inverted front fork and KOSO RX2N display). well, the 250r was not produce anymore. People always look down on this bike just because it's cheap, but I'm don't think so. The price is only slightly different compared to CBR250R! I own the bike for a half year now & I found no problem so far, the dealer give me 3 years warranty too!
why do they keep making these ninja 250r knock offs. the ninja is king when it comes to 250s. other companies just need to give up and yes that means honda too
Being an owner of a ninja250, I don't like the new ninja colour (white part) as much as 2008 green, think they should have left that colour option AVAILABLE for purchase also.
im gonna buy first megelli 125r because im not too old to 250r and after that 125 i think do i ride with megelli. Black megelli is more beatiful than that red.
@davbeel - i somewhat agree with you...but let me make this clear...chinese only make good quality stuff for BIG COMPANIES...NOT CHINESE BRANDS....when it comes to chinese brands the world knows that its gonna be shit quality...
@D61664 Again, you are still saying the same thing. Chinese brands have nothing to do with quality. There are quality Chinese branded products. You just won't see it because importers will get the cheapest crap to rip people like you off... Quality product from China are not cheap and most people don't bother to import them because of low profit...
The megelli 250R looks in my opinion better then the kawasaki.
But to be honest i would NEVER buy a bike that has a stand SO LOW TO THE GROUND. That is SO dangerous that i dont even think it should be ALLOWED ON THE ROAD!.
The design should be re-thought to better suit a novice rider which seems to be the target audience of the megelli.
p.s. The kawasaki 2010/2011 ninja looks SO MUCH SEXIER IN BLACK!
i think that manufacturers should make more 400's they would do better on the beginner market because people would keep them longer cause the classic case with the 250's are people get them, hit there top speed after a couple months and put it through its paces then want a 600
Now Honda's are known for their reliability I saw one in Thailand whilst on holiday and instantly wanted one but only available in Asia can't wait for European release
I'm Chinese. Am I allowed to call this cheap chinese crap? Seriously though, the British designers must share some blame for its faults though I guess you'd expect it from a young motorcycle manufacturer. Give them some time, maybe they'll sort out the kinks by the 2015 model or something.
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 You're a retard and know nothing. My friend's Honda blew up at 17000 kms. I've heard of Kawasaki ninja's having serious problems (transmission, metal quality). So don't come here and tell us about your racist opinion , get lost you homo.
Im pretty sure I didnt say that non Chinese products are of high quality, I just said that a lot of Chinese products are low quality and that's true so stop acting like that's racist. The U.S. doesn't make like any electronics, that's not racist that's true. The Chinese make a lot of stuff and they are made in sweatshops and are inexpensive. In those sweatshops, do you think they assure the highest quality? No of course not. you sound really stupid.
@davbeel and non Chinese products can be low quality too stupid, so can anything, no body needs to hear examples of low quality stuff or examples of non Chinese stuff breaking. It doesnt matter at all. And if you have half a brain you can understand that the more things you sell (which China does a lot), the more money you make and the way to sell more is to sell cheaper. How do you sell cheaper? You use less quality products. Thats why skull candy are so much cheaper than Bose. Stop being dumb
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Then why not just say cheap crap? You had the need to include the word "chinese" cheap crap. You are totally wrong, go back to your Gameboy little boy.
ok I'm sorry I threw the word chinese in there. Do you know why I did? Because a lot of products from China, ESPECIALLY MOTORCYCLES, tend to be cheap and of less quality. You could say "oh kawasakis are such low quality", but when you see they're not made in China, that's a plus because China doesn't base their products off concerns of quality. They make things affordable to sell them and it's smart, but when you do that you sacrifice quality.
haven't you heard of like the safety issues of some chinese products? And the quality issues of a lot of them? It's not good and that's why I said chinese. And another thing, did you know American cars aren't reliable? They make some fast ones, but they're not reliable? Would it have been bad if I said "Chrystler is an affordable company, but their American cars are American garbage in the reliability department". That's true. Stop getting so concerned about what other people say
ok, I wouldn't do that because you'll only make yourself look stupider, but if you want, I really don't mind. Not trying to be a dick, just saying it's not the slightest bit racist, it's the truth that a lot of Chinese merchandise is cheaply made (I don't know how that's racist at all) and I think that bike is Chinese garbage. I don't really see how you got so offended by this...
hahaha watch the first video on suggestions that says "2010 Benche Megelli 250R Motorcycle Review. In the first 40 seconds the guy even says "designed in Europe, built in China. That's all you really need to know." Later he talks about the problems with it. You know why he said that? Because Chinese products tend to be built cheaper and are lower quality, try to understand that and stop being so stubborn
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 ok so they are pointing out the flaws of this newly designed bike. But are they talking about the cons of the ninja 250r. I happen to own a ninja 250r, and i can say that after 3 or 4 days of not using it, it becomes very difficult to start even with the choke on. I also noticed the it a huge gas guzzler compared to other bikes of larger displacement. Even a dr650 has better gas mileage!!!
@davbeel man i think you need to get yours checked i mean everyone tells me passed 70 mph the 250r goes down to 50mpg and at 80 it goes way down, but i never gone that fast my parents dont let me go on the freeway =P, but your 250 is strange o.o lol
@newyorkyankeef4n1018@tank5617 First, it's not Chinese, the engine is from Taiwan, and it's different. Then, the company who produce this bike has been bought by the German company-SACHS (up to 70%). It's not just the design, but the technology to, that's why the tagline is: "German Technology, Design in Europe, Ridden Around the World". So, I think you should have more knowledge or info in your head before posting comment or something, especially when you want to insult.
@afletra actually Taiwan is considered part of China, they might want to say "German Technology..." because German technology and quality has an actual good reputation, unlike Chinese quality on a lot of stuff, so it's marketing. It's like Ford saying "built Ford tough." American cars aren't high quality either. Also, if you're going to point out every flaw in what I say, you might want to learn how to spell "to" correctly, like which situations you use to or too in.
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Usually, I'm not using English as my daily language, but I have to use it here in order to make you understand what I mean. It's just a mispel guy, you don't have to concern too much for it because it's not our main topic here...
And you're smart, you understand what I mean, right? So, what's the problem?
I'm sorry if it's a big problem for you, because I just can speak English a little, but I want to show my opinion, just like you :)
@afletra stop freaking out over my comment, chinese stuff is usually made cheaply. That's not racist, it's how people make money. The Chinese are smart, and they make money by making cheeper products. It's not rocket science, it's business. And when you have a cheap product, the quality's usually not as good. Stop being stupid. You sound less smart every comment! =D
We all know about Chinese cheap products and whatever, but it doesn't mean you can judge everything just because of that, you have to try it before judge it. At least they try to enliven the motorcycle market in this class. It gives us more options, especially people with low budget like me. It's a new company after all, and they keep on improving their products.
@afletra my comment shows how smart I am? I see where you're coming from, but I didn't judge this right when I heard it was chinese. It's chinese, the reviews said the quality's not great, the horn honks if you turn it too far right, it just so happens that it's a chinese or Taiwanese (which is still Chinese) bike. And all I'm saying is that to make a profit, sometimes it's good to buy / sell something that's cheaper. The Chinese make a lot of products and money this way (not all).
And, just info, Megelli is UK company, fonded by Barry Hall, and he's not Chinese :)
You can easily find the detail about this British company on internet.
Motorcycles are designed and engineered in the UK using new bespoke tooling for the majority of components, the only thing they do in China is the final assembly. So, I think you understand right? About that honk problem you always say, or maybe the overall quality...
@afletra if you're gonna think that's racist, it's not lol. Saying "all chinese stuff is shit", that's racist, but saying this bike is chinese garbage isn't racist at all because the review proved it's not great, so you can call it garbage (just watch when he turns it too far and the horn honks lol), and it's chinese and a lot of chinese products, like this bike, are less expensive and not as high in quality. And I'm 17, so I'm not a genius, but I understand how profiting works =)
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Like I said, this company is new, and they're keep improving their product. You always mention about the honk problem, you're right, that's one of the bike's weakness. But the latest version (Megelli 250RV) have a better quality, they also added liquid cooled and upside-down front fork, the price same as CBR250. No "honk" problem anymore.
And as far as I know, chinese product cheap not always because it's bad in quality, but they cost less to paid employee...
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 U admit that not all Chinese products bad. Like I said over & over, they're improving. Build bikes in China doesn't mean the product is bad right? If u compare the bike with Japanese/Italian, that's inappropriate, of course Megelli have a lower quality. But it's very reasonable, considering they're new. Japanese/Italian also have a time where they're just starting. Criticism is good but we have to see the good part too, don't just the weakness, that's what I wanna tell u :)
@afletra believe me I see the good. That bike looks so fucking sick it's ridiculous! It's jut that being 17, if I get a bike one day, I would want something with good quality and if they work on their quality and get it up their with kawasaki and yamaha, that'd be awesome cuz it looks so awesome. In another video review on it, the guy turned and the kickstand hit the ground and dragged. That looked ridiculously scary lol. If they can work on that stuff, this will be a sick bike.
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Yeah, that weakness (kickstand dragged) was fixed too in the latest version (250RV), I don't know in the other country, but they did in my country. About quality, maybe it will takes a long time until they can match the Japanese, but if you want a 250 with a stunning looks but you have a low budget, this bike can be an option and worthed enough for daily use. I use it for almost a year now, and I don't find any problem so far :)
@afletra Kawasaki can't touch its looks! But for now I just don't think it's a quality product and our original argument was over me calling it "a chinese piece of crap" and whether or not that's racist, but if they improve the quality on this, it will be one nice ass bike. It looks so freaking cool, I wish the Ninja looked like that =(
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Now I see, that's just about the "words" we use, can be negative or positive based on how you look at it. That's just your way to show your opinion after all, like me. Maybe I concerned because I own the bike, you know what I mean :)
Yeah, for me Megelli looks "steal" the style of MV Agusta, Ducati, and bimota, of course it's looks cool. But Ninja have it's own style, I just bought one this week. I'll upload the video of both my Ninja and Megelli soon, hope you'll see it...
@afletra awesome! How do you like it compared to the Megelli? And I definitely think the Megelli looks sweet, it's so nice, but as a 17 year old kid, If I ever get a bike, I would want something that's safe and high quality because I'm just new to driving cars you too know? Well I'll definitely check out your vid on the Ninja, and how do you like it compared to the Megelli? And have you ever had problems with the Megelli?
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 I agree! You're right. For starter, safety and quality is all about. And choosing a well-known and proven brand like Japanese is better.
I'm a noobie, so I can't give you a good comparison. Moreover, the Ninja is new while I've rode my Megelli for almost a year now. But, for me, performance of Ninja is better at almost all aspect. Although the gap isn't really significant. I'll make the video soon after I get a good cam, because make it with a phone cam will be worst :)
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Like I said, I've own the Megelli for almost a year now, but I find no significant problems (I own the 2nd-gen which named 250RE in my country). The only problems for me is the riding position. As we know, it has a very-racy riding position, and it not recommended for touring/far trips. Plus, I'm short (5.4 f), I have a back ache sometimes because I ride it every day from home to college, hehe...
@afletra haha, well at least you look cool riding it =) And yeah quality is important and even thought something's not great quality doesn't mean it's awful, it's just not quite as good. For my first car, I'm getting a mustang which is so awesome and I'm so excited, and my dad has a BMW. The quality of Fords are not half as good as BMW's, but I think mustangs look and drive awesome, so I'd prefer one. And I'll be sure to check out your Ninja review =)
@afletra but also a whole lot of products, like toys, shoes, clothes, electronics, etc. are made by people and children in sweatshops. This stuff happens and when kids and other people are working long hours in a sweat shop for very little money, the quality is garbage. This doesnt happen for every product, but it does happen and that's one thing that makes a lot of chinese products bad quality. It might not happen for this bike, but that does happen. But not all chinese products are bad quality
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 About all that stuff you mentioned, I agree. Moreover, they're famous about making imitation products. But, you said something like you ever saw it, "kids and other people are working long hours in a sweat shop for very little money"? How do you know that? You live in China?
I live there with my father for 2 years, and as far as I know, they paid employee cheap because in China, as all we know, there are massive population, and employee is very easy to get.
this is amarican right? because in canada where i live it is 4,999 unless you want it kawasaki green then it's 5,100 but our version is fule injected so.........
The Megelli looks far better! And i'm a Kawasaki fan! WOW. it's starting to get to me that Kawasaki is not only lacking a bit in performance with it's bikes, but also more in the looks department as well. Being that i'm not gonna take my bike to a race track, or speed through city streets I atleast want my bike to look like one of the best looking bikes on the road. C'mon Kawasaki lets improve the looks as well, and also lets take the crown for liter bikes away from BMW!
@makoixxc You're a racist piece of shit for even mentioning the word "Chinese" in your post. The chinese make alot of quality products, alot of parts for japanese bikes are MADE IN CHINA, but you don't know that do you?
dude, stuff made in other countries is usually higher quality than stuff made in China. Do you know why a lot of stuff is low quality in China? Not because people are racist, but because in China, there are sweat shops where employees are held and work for extremely little money and their isn't the same kind of quality inspections. They also are cheaper and THATS HOW and WHY THEY SELL SO MUCH. Think about it, pay employees less, sell things cheaper, make more $. the quality is less
only one weakness ninja = fast !!!!!!

The ninja 250 hasn't always been liquid cooled? This guy doesn't know shit if he doesn't know that they've all been water cooled, except maybe for the one year they made a japan only version of the bike that was totally different than its successors. Certainly all the way back to 88 they were water cooled!

is megelli faster than ninja zx250 and cbr250?
what about the specification?
bingung182 9 months ago
@bingung182 Not Ninja ZX250 I think, it's Ninja 250R. ZX only used is supersport and superbike class of Kawasaki, i.e Ninja ZX-6R, ZX-10R, and ZX-14R. Well, Ninja 250R is have the highest top speed compared to CBR or Megelli, while CBR have a good low-mid torque. Correct me if I wrong :)

i dont sees anything good from the megelli except that it has a cheaper price (chepaer quality though) and a nice look (wel, this is how you do when you combine a ducati, MV, and any other soprtsbike design).
furthermore,. Megelli is one of the most disapointing bike performance aver in my country. the bike will broke after several use, and it has a very strong vibration. (like youre riding a 2000cc engine) anyway, those with less money will buy megelli, and then ralize that it will cost u more

im interested with Megelli because my budget and in my place its low profile (for Thiefs)
Ninja its not for my budget and very popular for thief...
i heard megelli released Gen 2.... anyone ?

@TheOnlyCoolestGuy111 In my country, this bike have 3 version; 250r, 250re (liquid cooled added), and the latest version; 250rv (equipped with Fast Ace Inverted front fork and KOSO RX2N display). well, the 250r was not produce anymore. People always look down on this bike just because it's cheap, but I'm don't think so. The price is only slightly different compared to CBR250R! I own the bike for a half year now & I found no problem so far, the dealer give me 3 years warranty too!

@davbeel - i somewhat agree with you...but let me make this clear...chinese only make good quality stuff for BIG COMPANIES...NOT CHINESE BRANDS....when it comes to chinese brands the world knows that its gonna be shit quality...
D61664 1 year ago

WhoAreYou94 1 year ago
i think that manufacturers should make more 400's they would do better on the beginner market because people would keep them longer cause the classic case with the 250's are people get them, hit there top speed after a couple months and put it through its paces then want a 600

davbeel 1 year ago
@davbeel
No of course not. you sound really stupid.
newyorkyankeef4n1018 1 year ago
@davbeel and non Chinese products can be low quality too stupid, so can anything, no body needs to hear examples of low quality stuff or examples of non Chinese stuff breaking. It doesnt matter at all. And if you have half a brain you can understand that the more things you sell (which China does a lot), the more money you make and the way to sell more is to sell cheaper. How do you sell cheaper? You use less quality products. Thats why skull candy are so much cheaper than Bose. Stop being dumb
newyorkyankeef4n1018 1 year ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Then why not just say cheap crap? You had the need to include the word "chinese" cheap crap. You are totally wrong, go back to your Gameboy little boy.
davbeel 1 year ago
@davbeel
ok I'm sorry I threw the word chinese in there. They make things affordable to sell them and it's smart, but when you do that you sacrifice quality.
newyorkyankeef4n1018 1 year ago
@davbeel
haven't you heard of like the safety issues of some chinese products? And the quality issues of a lot of them? It's not good and that's why I said chinese. And another thing, did you know American cars aren't reliable? They make some fast ones, but they're not reliable? Would it have been bad if I said "Chrystler is an affordable company, but their American cars are American garbage in the reliability department". That's true. Stop getting so concerned about what other people say

@davbeel
ok, I wouldn't do that because you'll only make yourself look stupider, but if you want, I really don't mind. Not trying to be a dick, just saying it's not the slightest bit racist, it's the truth that a lot of Chinese merchandise is cheaply made (I don't know how that's racist at all) and I think that bike is Chinese garbage. I don't really see how you got so offended by this...
newyorkyankeef4n1018 1 year ago
@davbeel
hahaha watch the first video on suggestions that says "2010 Benche Megelli 250R Motorcycle Review. In the first 40 seconds the guy even says "designed in Europe, built in China. That's all you really need to know." Later he talks about the problems with it. You know why he said that? Because Chinese products tend to be built cheaper and are lower quality, try to understand that and stop being so stubborn
newyorkyankeef4n1018 1 year ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 ok so they are pointing out the flaws of this newly designed bike. But are they talking about the cons of the ninja 250r. I happen to own a ninja 250r, and i can say that after 3 or 4 days of not using it, it becomes very difficult to start even with the choke on. I also noticed the it a huge gas guzzler compared to other bikes of larger displacement. Even a dr650 has better gas mileage!!!

jrahm001 1 year ago

ok, that's good to hear about the Kawasaki, but it doesn't really have anything to do with the other bike being horrible quality
newyorkyankeef4n1018 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
@davbeel
because it's true that China makes a lot of less quality products and I can point that out. You don't have to judge all my words. You are stupid.
newyorkyankeef4n1018 1 year ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 @tank5617 First, it's not Chinese, the engine is from Taiwan, and it's different. Then, the company who produce this bike has been bought by the German company-SACHS (up to 70%). It's not just the design, but the technology to, that's why the tagline is: "German Technology, Design in Europe, Ridden Around the World". So, I think you should have more knowledge or info in your head before posting comment or something, especially when you want to insult.
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra actually Taiwan is considered part of China, they might want to say "German Technology..." because German technology and quality has an actual good reputation, unlike Chinese quality on a lot of stuff, so it's marketing. It's like Ford saying "built Ford tough." American cars aren't high quality either. Also, if you're going to point out every flaw in what I say, you might want to learn how to spell "to" correctly, like which situations you use to or too in.
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Usually, I'm not using English as my daily language, but I have to use it here in order to make you understand what I mean. It's just a mispel guy, you don't have to concern too much for it because it's not our main topic here...
And you're smart, you understand what I mean, right? So, what's the problem?
I'm sorry if it's a big problem for you, because I just can speak English a little, but I want to show my opinion, just like you :)
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra stop freaking out over my comment, chinese stuff is usually made cheaply. That's not racist, it's how people make money. The Chinese are smart, and they make money by making cheeper products. It's not rocket science, it's business. And when you have a cheap product, the quality's usually not as good. Stop being stupid. You sound less smart every comment! =D
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Yeah, your comment show how smart you are :)
I bet you have a very high education level.
We all know about Chinese cheap products and whatever, but it doesn't mean you can judge everything just because of that, you have to try it before judge it. At least they try to enliven the motorcycle market in this class. It gives us more options, especially people with low budget like me. It's a new company after all, and they keep on improving their products.
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra my comment shows how smart I am? I see where you're coming from, but I didn't judge this right when I heard it was chinese. It's chinese, the reviews said the quality's not great, the horn honks if you turn it too far right, it just so happens that it's a chinese or Taiwanese (which is still Chinese) bike. And all I'm saying is that to make a profit, sometimes it's good to buy / sell something that's cheaper. The Chinese make a lot of products and money this way (not all).
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 I have answer your question about the "honk" problem.
About that honk problem you always say, or maybe the overall quality...
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra if you're gonna think that's racist, it's not lol. Saying "all chinese stuff is shit", that's racist, but saying this bike is chinese garbage isn't racist at all because the review proved it's not great, so you can call it garbage (just watch when he turns it too far and the horn honks lol), and it's chinese and a lot of chinese products, like this bike, are less expensive and not as high in quality. And I'm 17, so I'm not a genius, but I understand how profiting works =)
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Like I said, this company is new, and they're keep improving their product. You always mention about the honk problem, you're right, that's one of the bike's weakness. But the latest version (Megelli 250RV) have a better quality, they also added liquid cooled and upside-down front fork, the price same as CBR250. No "honk" problem anymore.
And as far as I know, chinese product cheap not always because it's bad in quality, but they cost less to paid employee...
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra It's kind of stupid that I actually went to their site to find out where there stuff is built, but I wanted to check and here's what I found.
"75% of all components are sourced in Taiwan. Quality materials and components are key to longevity.
Production facilities in China under Taiwanese and European management
It's a UK company, but it's still built in China. And you're right, not all Chinese products are bad, but
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 U admit that not all Chinese products bad. Like I said over & over, they're improving. Build bikes in China doesn't mean the product is bad right? If u compare the bike with Japanese/Italian, that's inappropriate, of course Megelli have a lower quality. But it's very reasonable, considering they're new. Japanese/Italian also have a time where they're just starting. Criticism is good but we have to see the good part too, don't just the weakness, that's what I wanna tell u :)
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra believe me I see the good. That bike looks so fucking sick it's ridiculous! It's jut that being 17, if I get a bike one day, I would want something with good quality and if they work on their quality and get it up their with kawasaki and yamaha, that'd be awesome cuz it looks so awesome. In another video review on it, the guy turned and the kickstand hit the ground and dragged. That looked ridiculously scary lol. If they can work on that stuff, this will be a sick bike.
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Yeah, that weakness (kickstand dragged) was fixed too in the latest version (250RV), I don't know in the other country, but they did in my country. About quality, maybe it will takes a long time until they can match the Japanese, but if you want a 250 with a stunning looks but you have a low budget, this bike can be an option and worthed enough for daily use. I use it for almost a year now, and I don't find any problem so far :)
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra Kawasaki can't touch its looks! But for now I just don't think it's a quality product and our original argument was over me calling it "a chinese piece of crap" and whether or not that's racist, but if they improve the quality on this, it will be one nice ass bike. It looks so freaking cool, I wish the Ninja looked like that =(
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Now I see, that's just about the "words" we use, can be negative or positive based on how you look at it. That's just your way to show your opinion after all, like me. Maybe I concerned because I own the bike, you know what I mean :)
Yeah, for me Megelli looks "steal" the style of MV Agusta, Ducati, and bimota, of course it's looks cool. But Ninja have it's own style, I just bought one this week. I'll upload the video of both my Ninja and Megelli soon, hope you'll see it...
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra awesome! How do you like it compared to the Megelli? And I definitely think the Megelli looks sweet, it's so nice, but as a 17 year old kid, If I ever get a bike, I would want something that's safe and high quality because I'm just new to driving cars you too know? Well I'll definitely check out your vid on the Ninja, and how do you like it compared to the Megelli? And have you ever had problems with the Megelli?
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 I agree! You're right. For starter, safety and quality is all about. And choosing a well-known and proven brand like Japanese is better.
I'm a noobie, so I can't give you a good comparison. Moreover, the Ninja is new while I've rode my Megelli for almost a year now. But, for me, performance of Ninja is better at almost all aspect. Although the gap isn't really significant. I'll make the video soon after I get a good cam, because make it with a phone cam will be worst :)
afletra 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 Like I said, I've own the Megelli for almost a year now, but I find no significant problems (I own the 2nd-gen which named 250RE in my country). The only problems for me is the riding position. As we know, it has a very-racy riding position, and it not recommended for touring/far trips. Plus, I'm short (5.4 f), I have a back ache sometimes because I ride it every day from home to college, hehe...
afletra 9 months ago
@afletra haha, well at least you look cool riding it =) And yeah quality is important and even thought something's not great quality doesn't mean it's awful, it's just not quite as good. For my first car, I'm getting a mustang which is so awesome and I'm so excited, and my dad has a BMW. The quality of Fords are not half as good as BMW's, but I think mustangs look and drive awesome, so I'd prefer one. And I'll be sure to check out your Ninja review =)
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@afletra but also a whole lot of products, like toys, shoes, clothes, electronics, etc. are made by people and children in sweatshops. This stuff happens and when kids and other people are working long hours in a sweat shop for very little money, the quality is garbage. This doesnt happen for every product, but it does happen and that's one thing that makes a lot of chinese products bad quality. It might not happen for this bike, but that does happen. But not all chinese products are bad quality
newyorkyankeef4n1018 9 months ago
@newyorkyankeef4n1018 About all that stuff you mentioned, I agree. Moreover, they're famous about making imitation products. But, you said something like you ever saw it, "kids and other people are working long hours in a sweat shop for very little money"? How do you know that? You live in China?
I live there with my father for 2 years, and as far as I know, they paid employee cheap because in China, as all we know, there are massive population, and employee is very easy to get.

dude, stuff made in other countries is usually higher quality than stuff made in China.
