Anyone who thinks Syn is the best metal guitarist today needs to have their ears ripped off. Heavy Metal T-shirts and sleeve tattoos don't make up for the fact that Avenged Sevenfold is the BLINK 182 of Metal. Metallica makes the grade more than they do. Seeing as how the spark that ignited the fire back in the 80's was they Bay area thrash metal scene. I'm tired of my beloved metal scene being dominated by a bunch of "Untalented Hacks" that are 90 percent IMAGE, and 10 percent sound.

OK... First off. Syn has at best rudimentary guitar skills. When Darrell Abbott was only 15 years old he was barred, state wide, from competing in any guitar playing competition in the state of Texas. Due to the fact that his mastery of the guitar gave no other competitors even a fighting chance to beat him. My point is I give NO credit to a band that got their sound from a recipe book. You wanna hear skill? Go pick up a Steve Vai (one of Dime's influences) and stop buying your metal at walmart

@colosalguitarist i agree with you. the A7X version sounds alot more fuller, cuz the in the PAntera verstion, Vinnie keeps the hi-hat(the one that claps together?) really tight, while The Rev keps the pedal loser, with makes it last longer, but syn doesnt play the solo perfectly, and im pretty sure he uses different settings in Diamonds in the Rough than his usual(or mabey pickups) cuz it soudns alot more dirtier.

I definately don't think Synyster played it better. I have played both solos at the exact same time just to look for differences. Both solos are the same, note for note, only Dimebag created it.
