Windows XP was not crappy..Windows Xp was the most stable operating system that Microsoft came out with... The worst Operating system was Windows ME, then Vista before sp1...both OS were unstable

Microsoft wasn't really going to name Windows 7 version 7 cause it's really not a complete upgrade to their OS..but hey it works and people love it ..so 7 was really a redone version of Vista..Microsoft even says it...and i love it more than vista :)

Windows failed with the Mojave experiment and because of the negativity in the media Windows HAD to give the OS a new look and rename it because people just didn't care about Vista no more... Vista pre sp1 wasn't good for windows and then the media really hurt the windows os. 7 is really Vista Sp2... this is what vista should have been to begin with..

@Dustin872006 Sorry but you're entirely WRONG. How the hell is it a service pack to vista? Just FYI: 7 has existed before Vista. 7 was the Vienna project if you recall. They put it on hold and released vista. Yes they have the same kernel, but that's like saying that you and I are the same because we have the same cell. I figure they suspected the successor to XP would faill regardless, so they made a filler OS that was just thrown together. Then came out with 7, their original project. k.Thx.

7 has a lots of differences (and other thinks that are alike) with Vista SP2.

No, im not entirely wrong..I'm a computer science major so I know what I'm talking about. If you take a look at some of the application properties in 7 it tells you it is 6.xx meaning Windows Vista. 7 did not exist before Vista so that is just a stupid comment you made. LH/vista was in works right after the release of XP in 2002. yes they have the same kernel, and no thats not like comparing human cells because the kernel of vista and 7 have slight modifications.

Xp is not a kernel, NT is Xp's kernel just like it is for Vista and NT. Now 7 has a XP compatibility mode, which is pretty much a virtual pc of XP running on 7...but that really isn't something new because u can run all ur XP stuff on vista with virtual pc.

an OS cannot be more powerful, it depends on your computer. I can say that my power pc with 12 GB RAM and a 2 TB HD with 2 Nvidia Geforce GTX 2 Graphics cards is more powerful than yours with ubuntu.

Aero shake doesn't hide windows like that (they merged into the center), instead they animate minimizing to the task bar.

What are you talking about? Compiz is hardly useful, all it is is eye candy. The only remotely useful feature is the space switching cube.

As far as I know, Compiz didn't come up with Aero peek, shake, snap, etc. that make Windows 7 task management more efficient than any other system around.
