  • what landing?

  • I remembered when the last sultan passed away (now, Terengganu has a new king). The airport was so small that when Bruneian (carrying Brunei sultanates) boeing wanted to land, it just circled Kuala Terengganu city for 20 minutes, and other aeroplane have to give space by flying away from the airport. Now (2011), the airport is freakin big and it could accomodate passengers who are going to Mecca, Saudi Arabia...every year. I hope they would open routes to other international destinations.

  • the people in the plane must've been like

"Wtf why are they shooting water at us? Are we on fire?! AHHHHH! FIRE!"

btw i know what a water solute is

  • It's almost impossible to land 747 to this airport. I have been there and know that what a short road this airport have. It's very awesome.

  • HA "Is the runway cleared to land" "NO, the 747 is throwing a fit in the runway because EMS is giving it a bath" LMFAO

  • they to that when is the pilot last flight.

  • Captain retiring?

  • aaaaa, if its first time lands for the first time in the airport, how do it find its way??

  • @m88123ify The pilots study the airport charts well before they even takeoff from the airport they flew from. Thats how it works :)

  • @jlebesis thx! it help much!

  • @m88123ify No problem :)

  • should read :B747 taxiing @ terengganu for the first time

  • where is the landing??

  • Tak faham apa kah logic kerajaan pusat jadikan airport KT antarabangsa berbanding ngan Kota Bharu. Maybe sebok for KT bila time haji dan Monsoon Cup je, bukan all year round.

  • @ladiesmanns217 Mung ah hok bodo nyo

  • great :)

  • Well, what if the aircraft cached fire, they where at least well prepared and foreseeing! xD

  • its

  • kasi siram

  • salute to Captain Nawawi :)

  • why are there 3 men signaling to the aircraft ?? who is the marshaller then??

    CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!

  • yo tengo un boing 747 en el gta san andreas

de la misma empresa que ese avion

es el mismo pero nada mas que en el juego

  • type in query for water salute, and you will see more of videos on YouTube of other airports giving water salute to new incoming airliners. (even in rainy weather)

  • Why call this a "landing"? The video doesn't start until after the landing!

  • looks like the plane was over-heated.

  • @subway394 its not over heated , its actually blowing dust off from the ground , ground , sand etc. btw im juz telling .

  • What seems to be the event here? Is it like the 1000th flight or something?

  • @erichmercado First B747 to land here :)

  • 747 4h6

  • this is how they do it on a maiden flight on arrival

  • I think this how they do it when a pilot is going to end his flight carrier (s0rry for the bad english)

  • Currently, Mh on operates B747-400.

  • What was that all about?

  • They should have watered the dirt sides of the taxiway before the plane came in. No sand would have entered nº1 and nº4the engines.

  • is this a -300 or -400 version of B747?

  • 400

  • wingtip = 400

  • how can you see at the wingtip if it's a 400 or 300?

  • 300's dont have winglets.... yet

  • Boeing 747-400.

  • Maybe he just wanted to have the plane washed.

  • i think the pilot landed in the wrong direction. look at which the dirt is blowing, that means he landed with tailwind

  • Comment removed

  • What if he actually landed in the correction direction and just did U turn at the end of the runway to head back up the taxiway? Ever thought of that?

  • ok then, mabye i was wrong, sorryy

  • Yeah I found another video of that very same plane, the video has a couple of parts, it seems to have been the first landing at that airport.

  • Here is the other part of the video, seach Youtube with this ID ---> "zDlF0uT0N6g" which leads to the part of the video when the 747 landed. Also, I see that youtube no longer allows links to its own videos, how pathetic.

  • nasib baik ler ader minyak...leh tolong ratyat tganu. kerajaan kaya tapi ratyat kayap. beza dgn kelate, kerajaan miskin tp ratyat kaya raya. maner beza?> tgk ler plate kenderaan tganu kelate......jauh kelate dah pintas. cepatnya bertukar plate makna ratyat itu ada pitih banyak

  • elleh 737 kecil dari 747 saya suka American Airlines

  • SLAMAT DATANG B 747-400...hahhahhha...hebak ganu lenim...bangge aq jadi anok ganu...idup ganu!!!!...

  • The pilot retired.

    They all get that...usually.

  • Tak cayalah! Dulu 737 pun susah nak landing. Skang kapal terbang beso ni pun buleh!

  • It was a Farewell to that Aircraft as it was being taken out of service.

  • untung kalu sape dapat naik 747 mase tu...tiket pon murah..siap dapat sijil lagii.....

  • ni ari perasmian landasan larr....buat ptame kalinya b-747 landing kat landasan Kuala Terengganu...

  • Captain's last trip?

  • or fuirst time in this airport,,,

  • i´ve never heard before about this airport can someone tell me where it is. anyway we can see the what the engineer power on a 747 can make.

  • Sultan Mahmud Airport is in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, Malaysia. It is on the east coast of the Malay Peninsula.

  • air tu bkn sebab burning atau apa tp kapal terbang tu di tepung tawar...yg air tu air mawar sbnrnya....hahahahaha

  • hmm.....in my opinion, its first its kind and to prevent dust/FOD from entering engine suction which might lead to engine failure/damage since KT airport still under construction so alot of precaution measure need to be taken to prevent any incident.

  • @w810dv

its water salute, when an airline lands for first time at any airport, are given water salute. not for dust prevention

  • @UAsar why?

  • @zipton360 its a custom for airports around the globe, to welcome any new airliner like that, as every new airline bring income to airport in form of airport taxes.

  • @UAsar awesome thanks :)

  • @UAsar never heard of that.

    mighty white of em...

  • @UAsar Also a tradition for a pilots last flight as a send off.

  • @UAsar Malaysia landed there before, it's because its a 744...

  • @UAsar LOL!!! Dust prevention XD

  • this shows KT is getting advanced... so impatient to know when the airport will be acknowledged as an international airport

  • hey,nice video...(5 stars,man..)

  • hahah its normally done if a captian is going to retire or any 1st flight ...

  • why the water spray ? was it burning ?

  • to prevent dust @ FOD to enter engine suction

  • its not to prevent dust.. when a new route is created between an airport, or a pilot retires or whatever.. it is done.

  • ... heard somewhere that its a salute because its the first of its kind at the airport or something.

  • no not burning, it's for inaugural flights, captain retiring, first time that type of aircraft on the apron etc..

  • @moumou1988 are they mad-wasting water when it is dust

  • @Sidtan33 it must be a first flight by this config or some welcome...to this airport. else there wont be any welcome party.
