I can honestly say that going to Berlin Zoo was one of the most depressing things I've ever done.
The animals all showed signs of stress, especially the apes and polar bears, and the enclosures are wayyy too small, especially the elephant ones.
When I was there I took footage of a polar bear just walking back and forward, moving its head up and down for about 5 mins, it was still doing it when we left. That's not normal.
I think animal well being at Berlin zoo defintely should be investigated.

We should save all the Polar Bears we can. They are losing their habitat to the receding ice from global warming and need us to help them. Maybe nature should have decide Knut fate. But I do feel that is great that Knut is alive. For those who feel that it's not right that Knut is in a zoo I do agree. However, theres FIVE times more polar bears today than there was in the 1940's.
ALSO, the University Of Illinois keeps the worlds most official records on the ice composition of the world, and THE ICE CAPS ARE NOT MELTING. There is just as much ice on the surface of the planet today as there has been in the past 100's of years.

you know the majority of cubs who are rejected by there mothers are taken in to care like this,
and there is normally a keeper who is designated within the first 2 years to solely care for them.
even though it may come across as a form of domestication, but in reality, the cub needs affection in any form for it to properly develop,
i can understand what you mean but you must understand its necessary for the bear to grow.
once fully grown, he shall be put into a more naturalistic state.

We should save all the Polar Bears we can. They are losing their habitat to the receding ice from global warming and need us to help them. We, who are the stewards of God's garden should do whatever we can to save His animals and their habitats from disappearing. I am for the animals and I am not an uninformed, rabid activist either. Little good these activists would do anyway, for Knut if they were in charge.

Maybe nature should have decide Knut fate. But I do feel that is great that Knut is alive. For those who feel that it's not right that Knut is in a zoo I do agree. But you also need to remember it is us humans that is destroying the planet through global warming and it our duty to help save any species.
