No, i am not using a shortcut, but windows user can set up a shortcut if they install a macro app.

i posted some link and a complete list of PSshortcuts for PC and mac on the discussion board of the tutorial site and group on FB.

Instead of color picking, could using layer mask to mask out the pale color for transparency be better?

There are certainly many ways, masks, eraser, colors, layer opacity and so on.

I prefer painting it this way.

I do hate adjustment layers and masks as they add more and more elements to your files.

Painting should be easy and quick, less of a graphic design process.

In the end it is really up to you guys, you should do whatever you feel is more easy for you.

I try to focus on methods that could be reproduced in other painting apps as well.

This is great, but if I had one comment/criticism, it would help in the voice-over if you mentioned the brush settings you use. Without it, we'd have to guess at what you're doing and how.

i mention in every video that i am using the same brush as always. the very first tutorial on the pages will show you the setup for this dual-brush, hope it helps! hcheers
