  • Vanessa was an incredible gymnast!! She has nothing to hang her head about! All gymnasts need to know it is okay to be human and make mistakes...no one should be under that much pressure!

  • she's awesome !

  • She has and always will be my favorite gymnast EVER.... MUCH LOVE TO THE TALENTED AND AMAZING VANESSA ATLER!

  • Great job!

  • Man, she was awesome. If not for those damn bars she would have been the best gymnast of all time.

  • What an amazing story! Always will be at the top of my list!

She is and always will be an amazing person!

  • You're still my favorite gymnast of all time, Vanessa. Goosebumps whenever you punch. Amazing. xoStephy :P

  • Its sad to think that a fall like that can take your life away, glad to see her get back on her feet.

  • What was it that happened that caused her to have all those problems? Did she just crack under pressure?

She seems like such a sweet, sensitive girl. =(

  • vanessa u r one of the best gymnast thet have ever existed even when u never go to the olympics u will be remember forever. u did dsserved a better spot on 1998 worlds but the judges dont score well all the time. i love u

  • this is sooooo good!

  • this is AMAZING! good job! i loved it!

  • My daughter has been a gymnast for 11 years now, and we have seen our own struggles in this sport. There are few gymnasts that come to mind when I think of my favorites. Vanessa Atler is the one I will always remember. Even the best of the best gymnasts fall. You will always be remembered...NOT by what you didn't accomplish....but by how amazing and memorable you truly are. You're a beautiful young lady with a bright future and we love you Vanessa.

  • This video made me tear up cause i understand exactly wat she is going through i used to be a gymnast to and i was one level away from elite at age 13 almost 14....i was chosen for this program called future gymnast 2012 which is to prepare some selected gymnast to prepare them for the olympic trial to go to the 2012 olympics...but then things started to go wrong for me.........(continued)

  • Amazing gutsy girl

  • great video

  • I've been watching gymnastics since i was a little girl back in 1992 and i think Vanessa is the best gymnast that america ever had. POWERFUL TUMBLER & GRACEFUL DANCER This video made me tear up:(

  • Every elite gymnast should watch this. Lots of elite gymnasts struggle when they retire and they should be aware that there is a life after gymnastics and you cannot avoid growing up

  • shes a good kid

  • great story! She shouldn't be so hard on herself, she did a great job.

  • wow, I just have to say that I cried so hard too!!

  • omg.. this really made me cry.. so so sad

  • She seems such a lovely girl. She has such strength of character. Whenever she made a mistake she just kpet going. I don't think i ever saw her crying.

  • that was so touching, me being a gymnast i feel that if anything like that ever happens to me, that I should keep going. Thanks for putting that video on here.

  • What a powerful video, and story! Thank you for making it to share with us!

  • that made me cry. bless her i love her ^^

  • Vanessa Atler is a super nice girl. I saw her in the American Cup in 1997. Gracious in victory and defeat. She will always be a winner in my book. I hope she is content and happy in all that she does in life.

  • she's very happy. she coaches gymnastics in southern california at gymnastics unlimited. she's on myspace, and she LOVES knowing that she still has fans out there.

  • Vanessa is my daughter'scoach and she is an amazing person. She is so wonderful with the girls and so strong. She teaches them so much about so much more than gymnastics.

  • i can't stop crying...

  • I have a soft spot for her, especially after watching Starting over when she was on. She just proves that gymnastics is sooo much more than a physical sport, but even more so a mental one. What song is playing by the way, very much likey!@

  • so sad ='

  • I was always really sad that she didn't make it to the Olympics. Maybe they would have done better in Sydney if she had been there.

  • She is an amazing gymnast no matter what people say. I would support her in any situation she choose.

  • Beautiful! You did SUCH a great job with this...it irritates me when people leave mean comments on some of her old gymnastics clips about her mistakes and everything else that went wrong, because they don't know the story behind it. Vanessa is a truly strong person, and I think her biography should be known by everyone. She's just truly inspiring, such a great role model. And she'll always be remembered as one of the best gymnasts in history!

  • You did a beautiful job on this. Thank you so much for sharing this.

  • where is she now?

  • She's the head coach of a gym in California.

  • Is it the JAG gym?

  • she's at gymnastics unlimited in Valencia.

  • This was lovely. Well done. I was already a massive fan, as obviously you are, and you truly did her greatness justice.

  • What a beautiful story. You did a great job on this.

    Vanessa we love you!!!!

  • SUch a sad story, but a real touching story. I wish Vanessa wouldn't have quite. I just hope she got ride of that loser boyfirend who liked to use her for her money.

  • i know he didnt deserve her. he was a jerk

  • what happened with her boyfriend using her for money?how old was she?

  • So sad. Gymnastics is such a tough sport.
