As for myself, I do not to draw any conclusions as to what UFOs represent but want them properly investigated to determine it. This was 1967, over 40 years ago! It is not beyond probability that the installations were not 100% effective. For instance 40 years as far as technology goes is the stone age. I believe the Apollo11 ( you do believe in the moon landing I take it) capsule did not have the technology of a current wrist watch! "Never thrown out of office" but "Later, he was indicted on charges of extortion and making false financial statements, and of bank fraud. He was convicted of bank fraud in 1997. As Arizona state law does not allow convicted felons to hold office, Symington resigned his office on September 5, 1997" (source wiki) although it was overturned on appeal. Such cases as wire fraud, attempted extortion and false statements in bankruptcy proceeding suggest that he was in need of money.

Seth is one of my hero's, but I think he is short-sighted at times. "They don't know we are here...because we have only been broadcasting for 50 years." But what about LARGE alien telescopes? We have been building large telescopes (by our standards) for a hundred years. It is reasonable to believe that a two thousand-year-old alien civilization, say, within 500 light years, could have a GIANT telescope watching our every move. But of course they would be watching circa 1509, not 2009.
Okay i know i should resist answering this but i can't because of the asinine and frankly stupid idea. this is because any aliens with no matter how large of a telescope would only see a hunky of rock. Being 500 light years away they would not be able to see any details of the planets surface except that it has oxygen. That's all that i wanted to say.
And just how asinine and stupid and temporal is it to assume alien technology can be little better than ours. Doesn't it take an asinine and stupid person to treat others' ideas with such words? You are a very unsuccessful and tiny human, no? I feel sorry for you.

You need to read up on Stanton Friedman's work. He is a well known physicist. He'll tell you what he thinks of people like Seth. He call's SETI "Silly Effort to Investigate" and calls his assertions as well others as " science by proclamation and not by investigation". I'm simply stating what's known about the phenomena so far according to Friedman et al. Some of the more interesting questions are what are their intentions and why are they here.
SETI is doing 'real science'.They are asking the question, 'do other technologically sophisticated aliens exist'? To answer that,they are looking for signals that would be made by technological species. They don't make claims without evidence.Friedman has NO evidence for anything. All his data is anecdotal.And in science,anecdotal evidence is garbage.I don't believe that aliens have crashed.That's silly....
... if an advanced species could traverse the stars, it's highly unlikely that they would crash once they got here (I mean, that would be pretty unreliable technology). Also, Friedman states that they may have came because of our Atomic tests. That's non sense. the time interval between our first Nuclear bomb test, and the arrival of the Aliens (that crashed), is too short. The information of the test, wouldn't have had enough time to reach the closest star system.
Again, Friedman has NO evidence for any of his claims. Which is why nobody takes him seriously. In science, you have to have evidence for your claims. All Friedman has, is anecdotal reports. And the statements have changed throughout the years. The Roswell Story has, if I remember correctly, three different stories. Some claim that one of the Aliens were still alive, another claims that they were all dead. One states that there were more than one crash, ect...
Even the abduction stories are fucking stupid. These aliens seem to act incredible dumb when abducting people. You need to separate the good data, from the bad data. Friedman's data is garbage. In my opinion, he's just trying to make money pushing his stories. Also, the idea that Aliens would come here for our DNA is laughable. In another 50 to 100 years, we will be able to make DNA ourselves. If these Aliens are so advanced, why are they so lacking in biological science?
If you're interested in good research regarding this topic, check out a guy named, DR. Jacques F. Vallee. He's a venture capitalist (funding programs for new types of technology). However, he used to be a Astronomer, and worked with the late DR. J. Allen Hynek. I'm not trying to come across as an ass. However, people like Friedman give the subject of UFOs a bad name. He makes wild claims, with no evidence to back anything. Extraordinary claims, require extraordinary evidence.
I've read the works of Dr. Vallee. I own two of his books, Dimensions and Confrontations. I think he is a superb ufologist, just like Stanton Friedman. I like the fire in your arguments, but keep an open mind. We don't know what we don't know and our Government is sure holding on to a lot of information. I've been studying this phenomena since the 1970's. My 9 points I stated before are the result of all those years of study.
If you mean, that the Government has 'good data' regarding UFOs, I'll admit that that is a possible argument. However, I don't believe that they are in contact with them. If Aliens came here, and wanted to abduct us, or what have you, they would. Why would they bother contacting our Government? Humans do that because we want to avoid confrontations with other societies. Aliens, that came to Earth, would be far superior to us, why would they be in cahoots with our Governments?
As far as Friendman is concerned, well, he has no good data to support his claims. For example, he holds 'blacked out documents', to support his claims of 'MJ 12'. That's weak evidence. I would go as far as saying that the government MAY have better data, then any Ufologist (photos, eye witness reports from pilots,ect). Also, Seth doesn't say that 'they have never been here'. However, his arguments, and those of others, like Sagan, hold weight...

For example,Sagan has stated when you look at abduction reports, the medical procedures and techniques,are very similar to ours.That sounds like the human imagination at work.The problem with modern Ufology, is that, to quote Vallee,"it has turned into a belief system, akin to religion".And that is a problem when researching the phenomenon. A real skeptic and not a pseudo skeptic, would want real investigations allowed when so many airline pilots, military pilots, police officers have filed reports of unknown craft flying in restricted air space and therefore posing flight safety and national security issues.
A UFO means Unidentified Flying Object and people need to be allowed to follow up on these serious reports to find out what the UFO may be in each case since not even the military can stop whatever or whoever controls them.

As for myself, I do not to draw any conclusions as to what UFOs represent but want them properly investigated to determine it. People we entrust with our lives such as the military and airline captains who pilot the planes we use for transportation, are not reporting ETFOs but rather UFOs. These reports obviously require serious regard and investigation and yet disinformation agents continue to try (and fail) to explain away major cases like these and many more.

This was 1967, over 40 years ago! It is not beyond probability that the installations were not 100% effective. For instance 40 years as far as technology goes is the stone age. I believe the Apollo11 ( you do believe in the moon landing I take it) capsule did not have the technology of a current wrist watch! And anytime we have large numbers of military people claiming that something is breaking into sensitive and restricted air space such as over our own missile bases, we actually do need to worry about what that can mean to our security. If anyone feels that these numbers of military people are just having hallucinations, then they may be un-nerved that some of those same people are also in charge of nuclear weapons and therefore we do need real investigations no matter what UFO reports represent.

"Never thrown out of office" but "Later, he was indicted on charges of extortion and making false financial statements, and of bank fraud. He was convicted of bank fraud in 1997. As Arizona state law does not allow convicted felons to hold office, Symington resigned his office on September 5, 1997" (source wiki) although it was overturned on appeal. Such cases as wire fraud, attempted extortion and false statements in bankruptcy proceeding suggest that he was in need of money.

The problem I have with this "sighting" is that I believe O'Hare airport is the largest airport on the world.(?). So why is there only 12 witnesses, when there must have been 1000s of potentially, and surely there would have been one that took a decent photo. But no, there appears to be no other "evidence". It's Also interesting that when airline pilots went to the FAA telling the FAA that they all saw a solid metallic looking object hanging over Chicago O Hare on 11-7-2006, the FAA claimed pilots only saw funny weather but yet the object was reported by pilots to punch a hole through clouds as it left the atmosphere at a high rate of speed. O Hare officials claimed no one talked about a UFO that day. Later, FOIA request where served to get tower recordings and revealed the O Hare officials lies.

#2 Nasa first tried to pass off files that were not responsive to the judges request but the judge called them out on that. Now some say it's possible this retrieved object could be a Russian device but in either case, NASA's actions were to try to cover up it's involvement with this UFO and it also smacks of cover up that this major court case has not been covered in a big way be our mainstream news media.

Another UFO cover-up tactic was the "JANAP 146" contract, which was petitioned against by more than 500 U.S. commercial airline pilots in the 1950's and threatened pilots not to speak of their UFO sightings or they would be fined and/or face imprisonment. The fact is that not many airline pilots or military pilots have ever written a UFO book or made any money from the topic but risk job status to report them. Its a shame that poor SETI isn't even set up to look into and investigate things that are happening closer to home that very much deserve unblocked scientific investigations. They are so fixated on radio signals as the end all and be all for alien communication but yet radio waves would likely be considered too slow for an advanced life to communicate with over vast distances. Besides, who ever else did have it at one time may still be too far off to ever hear from for many human life times.

Seth is one of my hero's, but I think he is short-sighted at times. "They don't know we are here...because we have only been broadcasting for 50 years." But what about LARGE alien telescopes? We have been building large telescopes (by our standards) for a hundred years. It is reasonable to believe that a two thousand-year-old alien civilization, say, within 500 light years, could have a GIANT telescope watching our every move. But of course they would be watching circa 1509, not 2009.

My point in the original comment above was that humans (including Seth) can become overwhelmed by mental, temporal limitations. When I say "GIANT" you think, "Yes, aliens could have telescopes bigger than Hubble." That's not what I had in mind. How about a space interferometer with mirrors billions of miles apart? You need to read up on Stanton Friedman's work. He is a well known physicist. He'll tell you what he thinks of people like Seth. He call's SETI "Silly Effort to Investigate" and calls his assertions as well others as " science by proclamation and not by investigation". I'm simply stating what's known about the phenomena so far according to Friedman et al. Some of the more interesting questions are what are their intentions and why are they here.

... if an advanced species could traverse the stars, it's highly unlikely that they would crash once they got here (I mean, that would be pretty unreliable technology). Also, Friedman states that they may have came because of our Atomic tests. That's non sense. the time interval between our first Nuclear bomb test, and the arrival of the Aliens (that crashed), is too short. The information of the test, wouldn't have had enough time to reach the closest star system.

And the statements have changed throughout the years. The Roswell Story has, if I remember correctly, three different stories. If you're interested in good research regarding this topic, check out a guy named, DR. Jacques F. Vallee. He's a venture capitalist (funding programs for new types of technology). However, he used to be a Astronomer, and worked with the late DR. J. Allen Hynek. I'm not trying to come across as an ass. However, people like Friedman give the subject of UFOs a bad name. He makes wild claims, with no evidence to back anything. Extraordinary claims, require extraordinary evidence.

I like the fire in your arguments, but keep an open mind. We don't know what we don't know and our Government is sure holding on to a lot of information. If you mean, that the Government has 'good data' regarding UFOs, I'll admit that that is a possible argument. However, I don't believe that they are in contact with them. If Aliens came here, and wanted to abduct us, or what have you, they would. Why would they bother contacting our Government? Humans do that because we want to avoid confrontations with other societies. Aliens, that came to Earth, would be far superior to us, why would they be in cahoots with our Governments?

As far as Friendman is concerned, well, he has no good data to support his claims. For example, he holds 'blacked out documents', to support his claims of 'MJ 12'. That's weak evidence. I would go as far as saying that the government MAY have better data, then any Ufologist (photos, eye witness reports from pilots,ect). Also, Seth doesn't say that 'they have never been here'. However, his arguments, and those of others, like Sagan, hold weight...

For example,Sagan has stated when you look at abduction reports, the medical procedures and techniques,are very similar to ours.That sounds like the human imagination at work.The problem with modern Ufology, is that, to quote Vallee,"it has turned into a belief system, akin to religion".And that is a problem when researching the phenomenon. Seth, like many others,just holds to the position that,'extraordinary claims, require extraordinary evidence'.I agree with him.
