I have to disagree with you both.. as much as I like Jonathan & his singing.. Van Morrison's version is better because it is his song, he wrote & preformed it to suit his feelings & emotions.. nothing is better than getting it straight from the source

Van Morrison's voice may be to some an acquired taste like "fine wine". His voice is unique because he's never tried to cultivate a smooth pop sound like M. Buble for instance or R. Stewart. If you can't appreciate anything outside the ordinary, you prob don't like his voice.

I like this one better, it sounds more magical, echoing the feel of the song. Van Morrison's always annoyed me because the lyrics were so wonderful, and I didn't like how he made it sound.

Personally I like this one better, probably because i'm in love with the movie August Rush. I tried to listen to the other versions but this one is more magical to me. It gives me tender bliss, it makes me think of my boyfriend and everything else amazing in this world. Its slow and romantic..its like a butterfly just floating by
