  • This is a psychological rollercoaster. They put what the believe a narcissistic antisocial individual would be like to the visual. It's a fantastic movie. Fantastic.

  • i swear to god i bought an exfoliating gel face scrub after this

  • @alwinovich me too, now I'm doing my own routine lol

  • How in Christ's name did Russell Crowe get the win and Bale doesn't even get nominated??

  • I also recommend you guys to read the book.

  • This movie is to show that it is very common for anyone to be fucked up in the head. It is much more. It shows a look inot the mind of a serial killer.

  • Alcohol dries your face out? Doing that routine every morning is what'll dry your face out.

  • It looks almost like a shampoo commercial. He makes me want to take care of myself.

  • Some people don't "get" this movie. They don't see Christian Bale's ass. They just see it as a slasher movie and a social commentary.

  • i like christian bale's ass, but of course i'll forever know him from this movie.. and i know what you mean, ripthesystem33..

the business card scene says it all.

  • How i follow my daily routine...

  • this scene is the sexiest thing I have ever seen in a movie.

  • honestly its kind of a funny movie. bale's step mother was against the book becoming a movie and being sold then bale becomes the actor in the darkly funny movie. its pretty messed up but to murder a guy over a business card? thats just funny as hell.

  • for the people who think that Patrick Bateman did not commit the crimes in this film, the director and the author of the novel have both stated that if you don't understand that he really did commit those murders, you misunderstood the whole story.

  • @BTTFMovie when did they say that? where is the interview?

  • @BTTFMovie So he did commit the murders.I been trying to understand, because many say he didn't! So i guess he did!

  • @BTTFMovie well how are we supposed to understand it then? not everyone "got" the movie, in fact i woiuld venture to say that most ppl didnt.

  • This movie was amazing. You have to watch in a different POV. and not as horror movie. There's more to it then just Christian slaughtering people.

  • hes fat

  • @jimmyjohnson691 r u kidding..the guy is buff as hell

  • I seriously don't know why Christian Bale didn't win an oscar, or at least nominated for his role, he did a fantastic job! He tends to give the character a some what creepy vibe to him, but towards the end of the movie, you begin to feel bad for him! Great job Christian! 10/10!

  • i think this movie was just great. i love it!

  • At once a sharp satire and an earnest study in the deadly consequences of moral vacancy.

  • Anyone know what music this is?

  • batman, meet bateman.

  • i think its badass when he takes his skin off

  • when was dis movie made?

  • 2000

  • This movie is about how fucking rich people can get away with anything with just money

  • Not at all.

  • He's the Goddamn Batemen!

  • wow batman really likes to take cares of his skin :P

  • notice how his hair is perfect even when he gets out of bed

  • Probably one of the better movies overlooked due to peoples inability to understand it. Time will tell for this movie.

  • great horror movie

  • When he has that ice pack on his face he looks like some type of weird super hero.

  • You mean like... 'Batman'? ;)

  • he has a similar quality to Tom Cruise

  • @choad45 except about 5" taller and a 10 x better actor lol

  • @choad45 He even said that that was the energy he was going for, after seeing Tom Cruise in an interview.

  • "and though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable, I simply am not...there"

    Wondefully written

  • This movie is very interesting.

Its is a nice visual representation of the vapidity of yuppy culture, and has some nice violence too.

The book is even better. When you read that book, American Psycho, you actually feel like you're in the mind of a delusional psychotic.

Oh, contrary to what most people thing Bateman never committed any of these murders, he was delusional, he hallucinated them. The ending scene in the movie and the book support this.

  • Just a thought, but I think the delusions he's having is an extreme way of representing the hardcore greed and wealth culture that blew up in the 80's. This thought came to me when they were all sitting, smoking cigars and watching Reagan on TV. These guys were metaphorically getting away with murder.

  • Whats the name of the song being played in the begining of the morning routine??

  • We all in ways are "superficial"..There is nothing at all wrong with taking care of yourself and worrying about your looks! We may not all look like models..But that is no excuse to make excuses or insult people that are better looking, or take the initiative to try and look nice!

  • if one were to start this type of routine, would it be worth it?

  • how weird...this is my exact routine too! minus the slaughtering and dissecting of woman.

  • Ahhh the butt scene! LOVE IT

  • Wait... does he use his mask before shaving?

  • No, after. You have to use it after.

  • @grandtheft480

I heard if you use it before, Christian Bale will actually kick down your bathroom door and murder you with an axe while "Hip to be square" plays softly in the background.

  • @HeadoftheHydra HAHAHA that's some funny shit...

  • wow, hope I can find the rest

  • Glutes of steel.

  • book is way better, love how it has the james van der beek character from rules of attraction "sean" in it...both are a must read!

  • "yuppie scumbag' nice ass".....wow how reactionary.

  • What an ass!!!

  • No one gets the real meaning behind this movie, they just see the violence!

  • I agree. Many people simply don't "get" this movie. They just see it as a slasher movie. They don't see the social commentary. They just see people being killed and Christian Bale's ass.

  • @RipTheSystem33 Good comment. I've noticed that alot of average types don't understand the movie at all. Kind of the same way that alot of idiots don't understand Fight Club.

  • @RipTheSystem33 And then there are the people who think they get it, but don't entirely(This mainly applies to the book). It's not just satire, or social commentary.

  • @quackajack13z

And there is inevitably someone who think they get it more than everyone else :)

  • There's three movies you have to watch in order. Start With American Psycho. work down to Fight Club and End with Dark Night. It's very interesting the similarities you see between them. Only think is that Bale is in both the first and last film so it can be a little wierd

  • @RipTheSystem33 Screw the social commentary, it's the amazing acting that's the key and the cinematography.

  • You are far from alone, Fruit Loop.

  • Its me Carnes. I'm Patrick Bateman! Don't you recognize me?

  • yuppie...?

    maybe

but he goes around murdering people in this movie...

    not so yuppie

but this is badass, not as extensive as my morning but i'm getting close... hahahaha

  • Bateman... Batman

    Bateman... Batman

He turned from a psycho yuppie into Gothams Dark Knight. Isn't that ironic?

But still, Bale's a gorgeous man with a gorgeous body.

  • Wow, he's good looking! But the best part is this perfect introduction to a completely superficial character.

  • Or a character driven insane by the superficial 80's Wall Street environment. In fact, when he tells his secretary to go away because he doesn't want to hurt her, he shows us how he sees that she is not like the other women. He spares her because she is not superficial like the rest.

Women who are greedy and superficial, however, get slaughtered...

  • Yuppie scumbag....but sexy ass!!

  • Queen Helene Herb mint facial masque/peel.

  • God this is more then I do in a week!

  • dont just stare at it- eat it

  • for a cost effective version of what he has, go to cvs, get the mint julep mask. it works great. tightens and smooths skin in 10 mins.

  • This guy is just like me! Amazing! I thought I was alone in ths world

  • i saw the movie first...it quickly became my favorite. Then i read the book...oh my god, amazing. American Psycho=10/10

  • this makes me want to take a shower, and cover myself with all the shower gels in my shower

  • hot

  • "i can to a thousand now" lol

  • I feel like watching porn when he's doing his excercise.

He's just so beautiful n sexyyyy!

  • Ok, please tell me you all "Get" the total Cynical Humor that this Scene, and Christian, are attempting to convey. this is making TOTAL FUN, of self-absorbed 80's Me-Generation Narcissistic A-holes, with Gym Memberships.

Lol! Exfoliating Scrub! Lol! 1000 Crunches!!!!

  • yea we all get it

  • And Tom Cruise. :p

    *CL*

  • It's also conveying the premise of the movie, you know, "American Psycho"...

    Lol

  • why was the toilet seat down?

  • It may be a subtle hint that a lady was there last night, but did not leave. Also, there seems to be some grey matter in a crock pot in the back of the freezer. Her brains maybe?

  • Christian Bale is a god. Or at least has the body of one. :3

  • srsly whats the intro piano song?

  • john cale...i can email it too u

  • Christan Bale has such a nice ass!!!!

he one of my fav actors and soo fucking hot!!!

  • My idol

  • There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there.

  • The movie just couldn't do the book its true honor, but still, Bale IS Bateman, even on my second time reading the book, its Bale I'm picturing all the way through. Definitely his best role. Brett Easton Ellis is a fucking GREAT writer.

  • I completly agree with you ryan, through out the entire novel all I could picture was Bale.

  • No girl would fall in love with a guy who is even more high maintenance then her.

  • that can't be more true, kind of funny too

  • remove the e in bateman and what do you get?

  • good catch.

  • @disface The Joker?

  • @disface BATMAN

  • 1000? HA.

    Punk.

  • this scene gets me so jealous,

quote" i can do a 1000," you bastard

  • tbh you go crazy counting to a thousand every morning

    crunches aren't that hard

I can do 3 hundred SIT UPS in one set at night after a long day

  • crunches are more difficult than sit ups, as sit ups have a resting period when you're up. crunches are generally considered to be more strenuous as you have no resting period, its 100% tension all the way through.

  • are you guys serious???

    he's a freak

  • I almost get chills and want to be this patrick bateman when i see this clip. Everything is so sketched out and perfect in his morning routine and his nice apartment, and hes buff too.

  • i think you missed the point.

  • Fantastic scene.

  • This helps me get up in the morning to do my own routine.

  • It is a go form of encouragement.

  • why cant any of these clips be embedded? is it some american psycho conspiracy?

  • Huh. So im not the only one who noticed that ._.

    Weird huh?
