this was a fantastic video, thank you teresa! i am learning how to make sourdough the new old-fashioned DIY way....by spending a ton of time researching on the internet! your instruction and teaching style is one of the best gems so far.
oh my god, this is so exciting.. i've never made any bread, well once i tryed it but it was a total poor chapter except the appereance. i'd be so glad to hear some advice from you Madam, and maybe you could tell me where can i get the information i need to start learning. thanks! Jerömme.
Thank You! This is the clearest shaping video I've seen. I just shaped two boules and it worked just like you showed. That's a first for me. I appreciate your willingness and ability to share your bread shaping knowledge.
Proofing nix banneton? any suggestions? plus maybe some insight on the variable effects on crust development? Thank you for your videos I would pay if I could!
Thanks for sharing this Teresa! I was looking for info on shaping a boule. This is the clearest online video I've found. I am new to sourdough, and so seeing the texture of your dough, exactly how much flour to use to dust, using the scraper, not cutting to deeply helped me very much. The pace was just right. I could see clearly what you were doing. Thanks again!
How much flower should i add to the starter, when mixing the dough?
Thanks again

Hello...
What makes the bread fluff (Airy).
Do you ad any thing to it besides the starter.
My bread always became very dense.
Thank you

You are the first person I have seen on youtube that makes sourdough bread like a pro and knows what you are doing. Great video thanks!

hi, i've seen on your blog, that you use a machine to mix the ingredients, how is it called ?
azt3c 4 months ago
@azt3c I used a ktech or a blendtec, but I haven't used a mixer for over two years, preferring to use my hands and a dough folding trough.

Also, when scoring, try holding the blade at a slight angle, so you can get a nice lip to the slice when it bakes, and springs in the oven.

It's not pronounced Bouly. It's just Boule (Bool). And when you bake it you want the seam side down, so it doesn't explode in the oven.

Teresa, are you using wholemeal flour?
connaultnicolas 6 months ago
@connaultnicolas It's been a while since I made this video, but I believe it was a white dough with some rye and whole wheat added.

Great video! You just taught me couple important things here.
But just one thing, as a native french speaker, boule does not sound like "boully" or "bullee", but more like "bull" no eeh sound at the end :)

@bc6666 As a native French speaker I concur with you! Nonetheless, this is a brilliant video on shaping!

Do you have a Wood oven? Also do you have recipes for a simple yet good starter, and how to make your bread once the Starter is completed.

Very clear and instructive, thanks! "Boule" is pronounced "bool", though, not "boolee"!

Also, lame is pronounced "lahm", not lam-ay like the fabric. Jealous of your expert and confident shaping skills.
