The National Labor Relations Act states an employer has a RIGHT to demand a secret ballot election. The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) WILL ONLY RECOGNIZE THE UNION AS THE SOLE EMPLOYEE REPRESENTATIVE IF A SECRET BALLOT ELECTION IS HELD UNLESS THE EMPLOYER AGREES TO CARD CHECK BEFOREHAND. Please read the national labor relations act, the read the Employee Free Choice act and compare the two... Then form an opinion. Under EFCA a secret ballot is almost a certainty because over half of a shop signing cards is almost unheard of, and the card check system was developed in 1935. lets talk about what this bill really does:

A. removes the requirement that all workers have a voice in an organizing campaign. A worker could get organized under a union before they even know that it's happening.

How you ask? Well, because the card check only requires 50% + 1 cards be signed and the union wins whether or not everyone was educated and had a voice or not.

B. Opens the door to serious harassment of anti union workers.

C. You would have to sign the card publicly

It favors bosses because it gives them the opportunity to deny a union even after a majority of workers agreed to unionize via card signatures.
