live in Monteagle and they are good, but there is a place called Holy Smokes BBQ that has awesome meats. I go to both places. I like the side at Smokin B's, but the meat is unbelievable at HolySmokes BBQ...I stay away from Smoke House.
Smokin B's BBQ is a stop I look forward to when I'm riding my Harley through the great state of TN. Love the corn fritters and fried pickles! GREAT food, good people and lots of interesting decor on the walls too! Ronbo
Monteagle is kinda blah. I used to enjoy stopping at The Tennessean on 65 (I think it was 65). I always say, if the meat is drowning in sauce, they are trying to cover up something! Looked pretty good although there is a BIG difference from Southern BBQ to Texas BBQ. Come on out this way and get this: Brisket and sausage plate with Pinto Beans and Tater salad and a glass on UN-sweet tea!!!

The first time i was in there was 20 years ago, when we moved from GA. Mom stopped there to get fuel for the U-Haul. i dont remember it being that bad then. i quit going there about 3.5-4 years ago. The floor is rotten, it smells like sewer and well its just not a clean place. Thanks for watching

Its pork shoulder, the top part of the leg on the front of a hog, that has been smoked and sauced. It is similar in taste to spare ribs, but has a lot of connective tissue and fat, it is cooked at low temp
(250deg or so) for a long time in order to render the fat/connective tissue out, and make it really tender
