In my opinion, this anime and Kaiji are commonly overlooked because of their art styles. They are amazing. (I know someone is going to get mad at me for comparing Kaiji to Akagi, lol.)

Yes, though somewhat different in style, and Akagi is wholly concerned with mahjong. Though, I believe Akagi himself pops up in Kaiji.
