just my personal opinion, but on a smaller baitcaster like your black max i dont like using braided line because when ure fightin a fish or pullin on the line it burries and twists ure line on your spool, i dont know if u understand what i just said lol, the lowest lb braid i use is 50 lb.
O I know what your talking about..It does twist but after you use it for a while it packs on your spool hard and wont dig in.Thats why i always take them to the river and throw a 2 oz and cast it for a while and then move up to a heavier weight works great.And i usually use backing for catfish i just use eletrical tape and for my black max i didnt because it has the vented spool so i just looped the line throught there and on the red one i used mono for backing then swich the the electrical tape
o yea well fishing aint the best round here either 1 lake round here over 100 acres! we try to go any place we can to fish even if its a small pond. its still fishin
We have one and the bass are all pretty small..I know a uy who got one 4lber out of there adn the rest around a pound and a half..Still fun to catch..but i want to get some bigguns some times..lol
I love it it is my go to reel..I have had a few different ones and the black max is the best reel i have ever owned for bass fishing..Best $50 i ever spent on bass fishing

Best bass fishin round here is farm ponds and they dont let alot of people on them and i can only get into a few and ther VERY picky fish!!!
