  • This just melted my face and brain.

  • Virgem Santíssima!😜

  • DWEEDEEDEEdle deedleedelelele (x 10 to the 15th power) when all the things You are are mine. Think I'll put on some Wes now.

  • Killing!

  • music, that only can be understood from the 5th dimension.

  • @larsjune1 seriously man, this shit is like out there :)

  • @scottfree6 incredible though, and every note, beat measure, precisely placed and timed.it's mind boggling!!! :)

  • @fretbuzz59 Also check out Bireli and Stochelo rosenberg playing spain live at jazz in vienne 2002

  • @fretbuzz59 Check out Stella by Starlight performed by Bireli Lagrene and Sylvain Luc live at marciac 2000.You'll see what i mean

  • @fretbuzz59 That's a good point.I guess i shouldn't have used the word passion. It is quite personal and has many forms of expression.Though i acknowledge that Pat is a great player,i have never really been a huge fan.For one thing,i never really cared for his tone, that made him sound like he is playing down in a well somewhere.I always preferred a tone with a bit more bite. The other thing is after listening to guys like Bireli lagrene and Sylvain luc,Pat,quite honestly sounds boring to me.

  • One of the best jazz solos that I have ever heard

  • This is one of the better solo's that i have heard pat play.I usually find his playing quite boring at times and harmonically repetitive. It doesn't help that his tone makes him sound like he is playing way down in a well somewhere. However,i have to say that this performance actually demonstrates a bit of his potential for playing with passion, and unlike some of his other performances, has not put me to sleep.

  • @loksinsan Everyone repeats themselves. Everyone. If you become familiar w/any player you'll hear the same licks & lines. As for passion...his playing here is very busy and flashy. Perhaps that's your idea of passion. Some of his most beautiful playing is nothing like this & can bring a tear to the eye. That's passion IMO.

  • Oh I miss this club! I used to go to L'Air Du Temps all the time when I lived in Montreal. I saw some great music there. The setting was small and intimate and the sound was fantastic. Montreal's best musicians and the best from around the world would show up there. Sometimes greats would show up to just listen or to jam at the club. I saw Uzeb, Alain Caron's band, Billy Joel, Some of Tribal Tech, Rhonda Smith (before she ended up with Prince). I'm forgetting so many.

  • every time i see pat. i cant go to bed till 3am cuz i just wanna practice guitar.

  • @issarakoat Gooo !!

  • @issarakoat and me i can't see him cause i want to stop!

  • @bruce68 you're actually right:)

  • @issarakoat every time i see pat, i think "geez, now he's gonna drop that pick!"

he's got a quite weird right hand technique, but it seems to work heavenly!

  • holy smokes, where did you get this ? I'm from Montreal and I knew about this gig but I couldn't go because I was working that night...It's amazing to finally see it, so many years later. They are on fire !! Do you have more of this footage ??

  • 脳から怪しい汁が・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・・

  • LOVE HIS SMILE ... AS BRILLIANT AS HE IS, AND HE HASN'T LOST IT AT ALL NOW ALMOST AT 57 NEXT MONTH .

LONG LIFE TO MR. METHENY AND HIS GENIUS

    ¡VIVA PAT!

  • @patscircle well come on.........57 aint that old anymore. As long as what you love to do doesnt wear you out completely, you could be an innovative musician a few yrs shy of a nursing home!

  • @lunarsiege Agreed, AB SOL U TE LY - thus i'm young too at 54 ;P ..jajaja..

Apart from that I saw Pat on March and he is not only ravishing good looking as ever but he is slimer, handsomer, thus he looks as he feels younger, even much more so than when he recorded his promos clips for his official page on his latest CD release last June. Passion in doing what you love to do is the key and the quid, oh yeahhh!!!!!!! Thank you so very much for your counter-reply, very welcome!

    *Mine de México*

  • So much fun to listen to this.

  • where has gone the video where Pat and Joe Diorio played this standard??

  • ...wtf...my brain starts to shut down...wow

  • Metheny does smoke. But I think he looks more like crusty the clown then the drummer.

  • Cheshire the Cat on guitar,Boris Karloff on bass and Krusty the Klown on the drums-amazing

  • Lordy - this smokes.
