First ever Tyne Tees derby I went to. Stil remember shouting "He's saved it" to my dad when Platty saved the penalty. Still can't work out what it was given for. What a free kick from Spike. If it had been Ronaldo or someone like that, they'd be talking about it forever. Wrong side of the area for a left-footed player, so he hits it with the outside of his left foot into the near post. One of the best free kicks ever.
