You complete a quest. I forget the name of it, but you'll probably have to be above level 20 or have ridiculous mods to complete it. Nature's trial or something. You get a nice set of armor too.
You start the nature quest around ANvil. In the castle in the queens room you find a scroll about Sylan Rangers. You can also find several ranged camps they usually have scrolls explaining about evil ranges in Aylied ruins. Pretty much at the end of the quest you get the ability to summon several really cool animals to follow you.
