Really what's the brand name got to do with anything, isn't the specs what matters? Asus and Alienware and Acer are all just the people who put together the computer and have their brand name on the case... Other than taht you could build the exact same PC with the exact same specs and it would work the exact same, no?

actually, I have an Acer, and it has worked fine so far. I haven't had any problems with it at all.. I've even dropped it on the floor from over 150 cm and spilt soda all over it and it's still fine..
sure, it can't take heavy gaming, but that's what PS3 and xbox is for..

Alienware had its time of being the best yes yes... but the price is to big and im pretty much paying double the value for flashing lights... Asus lambo model is so much cooler in my opinion and yet cheaper and better... I have an asus motherboard on my old computer same thing my old computer is 10 years old. That motherboard just aint giving up while my brothers 2 year old acer is already breaking down never-mind that it was breaking the second week he had it... I have an ASUS monitor love it.
alienware is srtickly built for gaming can use it for other shit to but if you cant afford one then yeah build your own going to be a pretty close price range $200-300 diff is alot for some people but alot of us dont want to waste time puttin a comp together while alienware is built for gaming and comes with high power water cooling. Laptops overall for gaming are dumb and if you think otherwise then good for you cause desktop is what you want for gaming.

Still got one and it´s running like thunder... but... my m17x is running like tunder and lighting... you want the same specs less money, buy the asus... you want same power but also cool design and tuning buy the m17x. M17x is the bomb, nothing wrong with that....

Im buying an Asus G73Jh, it has a intel i7 2.8GHz Quad core, 12GB RAM 1TB HDD with 1920 x 1200 resolution full HD screen. It costs 1550$ Alienware with the same specs costs 3880$ In addition Asus G73Jh almost doesn't make any noise!
