I agree Concorde should be better cared for by us. While i understand your frustration, there is no need for anti-American sentiment here. If money is an issue with upkeep at this museum, then she should be moved to another location where she can properly be cared for.
the biggest disgrace is that they replaced the destroyer edson with the concorde. edson was way more interesting and there was much more to do. the concorde is just a quick walk through. i wonder whos fucking bright idea was this? i agree with the people here, the concorde should have been put into a museum.
I work for British Airways and flew on the "employee appreciation flight" from Boston to JFK. I must agree with most of these comments. It is very disturbing to see the Pride of BAs fleet in such poor condition. BA has the funds and this should have been kept in MINT condition.
I am glad they had this Concorde in NYC. I am just aggravated of the poor upkeep.
omfg Concorde on a barge next to the sea rusting and the stickers pealing off although the inside is a little in cabinet but they didnt eithen go near the cockpit so the americans are not bothered about Concorde and they'll be putting their flabby fingers on the piano afterburners switches and the throttle quadrant and the flight instruments which should only be touched by British and French people which have the talent and carefulness of the maginificent machine we created
It's a disgrace what they've done to her. This is exactly the same type of 'protection' that they use in Seattle and has exactly the same effect of making it look like a mausoleum. Horrible and I certainly won't be bothering with this on my trip to NY.
As an American, I think that all Concordes should have their final resting places in the countries that built and operated them, Britain and France. At least BA still owns its Concordes, but still, bring them back to Europe. Those taxpayers are the ones who deserve to admire it.
Concorde fans have had worries over G-BOAD since it arrived in New York, as its sitting exposed to the salty coastal elements, its not the ideal location for long term preservation.
Recent visitors on-board Concorde in New York have been shocked but the state of the interior; with the carpet being ruined, overhead lockers being filthy with handprints, various door and access panels hanging off the galleys and the famous Concorde sign at the front door gone, being replaced with a cheep fake
What a waste just tied down rotting next to the sea it hasn't even had a wash since put on that barge in 2003 and many parts have been stolen by the public. The people that are suppose to preserve this aircraft should be very ashamed of them self's. Look at the rust runing down the windows Bring it back home to England I say.
is it free to get on if you paid to get into the museum or is it extra?

They're not stickers, and there's not much of Concorde to rust.
Think about it before telling me i'm wrong.

No matter where they display this
magnificent aircraft, I agree that much
greater care needs to be taken of this
pioneering piece of history.

a shame to see speedbird BOAD tied to a barge, I wonder what the air crew think about their "bird" being strapped to a barge.
concorde belongs in the air and to the british people and its a travesty that these birds are grounded !!!
