I love silents, but the one down side is not being able to hear the voice of legendary Geraldine Farrar in her films!

Geraldine Farrar is indeed wonderful to watch, but no, that is not her on the soundtrack of this clip. It is Susan Bickley, who, along with other soloists and orchestra, recreated the music that was performed "live" for the 1915 premiere showing of this silent film.... However, you can hear the voice of Geraldine Farrar accompanied by a montage of clips from the film as "bonus feature" on the actual DVD, available from VAI. Their website info is in their profile.

This is the first time i have heard Ms Farrar and you can see and hear why she was such a favorite in her day - right up there with Caruso.

The Sound is excellent, especially considering it is 95 years old. Farrar is wonderful; first time I heard her.
