@Adria4488 Yeah. We've already got some classic dubbings, like "Beauty and the Beast" and "Snow White and Seven Dwarfs" - dubbed in this year, I guess. Also, we have Princess and the Frog dubbed in Ukrainian. All in Disney Channel Ukraine is completely dubbed too. Process is going! Better than never.
Wow, thank you kindly Kendeelyoung, this version is simply breathtaking! My favorite overall, really. I love how he sings quite slowly and the lyrics are very powerful.
Excuse me =] Where did you get the Slovak versions of these movies? I really would like to watch them and get the songs of EACH Disney movie for my ipod =] Thanks
Just a little note; when the guard came to tell him Esmeralda was gone. He didn't refer to Frollo as a judge or sir, but instead a Minister. I haven't seen this movie in Slovak for a really long time, but I guess he was a Minister in the Slovak version.
Who is the singer who sings Frollo? Gorgeous voice!! This is one of my favorite Disney songs. Such a powerful song, and to hear it in Slovak....Wow! I agree with Blizzarderful, it does sound like an aria from an opera.
Thank you from a Slovak-American. Thanks for including the subtitles as well. 5 stars!
Oooo, I've never heard this version before, and I really like it! His deep voice is beautiful, though I typically prefer singing that isn't so low. But for him, it works :)
i think the singer is pretty good. in the most versions of hellfire are no emotions and this singer do this pretty good and i like his voice^^ and the language fix very good to the song.
The first is Slovak and the second is in Czech language, but I know this film as Zvoník u Matky Boží (in czech). But maybe it was translated several times under different titles...
this song is always scary and moving for me. I think I like polish the most [not only because I'm polish xP] but that's also good! But "that bad Esmeralda" made me laugh :D Like to a little doggy :D
0:48 I respect highly my honor 1:06 takes breath from me 1:10 zriem=I see 1:45 som nevinny=I am innocent 1:47 I have my honor 2:42 As the hell is blazing
I don't think it's like Hungarian neither. From this version I can understand almost everything, and from Hungarian versions I can't understand a single word...
Yeah, Slovak and Hungarian are still rather distant. While Slovak is in the Indo-European language family (including Baltic, Slavic, Germanic, Latin based languages, and nearly every other language in Europe), Hungarian is in the Uralic language family with Finnish and Estonian.
@madziksaw Hy !!!Ok, not you're the first, who didnt understand the hungarian version...Yes, its maybe more diffucult language than an other..I'm Hungarian, and lots of hungarian peoples cant understand this song / disney"s song ....I like my language and this version isnt better , but lovely ....
@realFully01 There isnt an easier or more difficult language ;) He/she understood this version because Slovak, Polish and Czech are 3 west-slavic languages that evolved from 1 old Slavonic language so they are very very similar and Hungarian is different :) Hovewer hungarian version is lovely as well :)
@madziksaw That's because Polish, Czech and Slovakian languages are from the Slavic language family (some claim they're just different dialects of one and the same language, especially Czech and Slovakian), while Hungarian is from the Uralic language family, with completly different sounds, grammar etc. It also includes Finnish and Estonian, among others. They're considered a very hard to learn, so it's no surprise one can't understand them without knowing them. ^^
I study Russian. Since English is my native language, it's interesting to look at the similarities and differences between Slovak and Polish and Russian.
I like his voice. Although he is a litlle young, his powerful baritone voice is so perfect for Frollo. I don't really like the more deep-voiced ones like the czech, swedish and latin spanish.
Yes, my favourite version next to Flemish. At times the lyrics were really intense (the cross is my witness etc.) and his voice is extremely dramatic and powerful, just as Frollo should be in this siuation.

Oh it's a pity I don't know anything about this wonderful language although I'm actually part-slovak D: But it seems so difficult to me x___x Back to topic,I agree with you his voice fits perfectly! It's really strong and "dark"!
Best version that i have heard. His voice is amazing.

Thanks to Polish\Czech\Slovak versions, I can enjoy this song too...
Cause for some reason, there is no Ukrainian dubbing for this song. So, all I can do - is to listen to the closest languages.
TheJamesDM 9 months ago
@TheJamesDM I think they only started dubbing Disney songs in Ukrainian/Lithuanian/Estonian/Latvian recently. Not sure why either.
BUT THIS SONG IS AWESOME.

Not German, Eastern European yes. Even in Polish and Hungarian we pronounce J like "y". There are many languages that do this.
