  • The best big striper videos ever. If you fish for striped bass monster stripers is a must have!

  • wow.. nice fish! Where are you guys fishing?

  • were was this

  • definitely a trout trouts are green with white bellys!!!!! didnt everyone know!!! hahahah oh and they have bigg mouths too

  • that was not a trout,.. game warden ALERT,..u just got caught!!!!

  • that was not a trout

  • You guys are idiots thats not a largemouth. Thats a smallmouth bass.

  • I would much rather you use a largemouth as bait then a trout... what the hell is wrong with all of these people going nuts bout a bass? A rainbow is a much more rare majestic fish. Cool video and those are some really nice fish.

  • it looks like largemouth

  • @123dersh NO LARGEMOUTH PERIOD - stir your stuff elsewhere

  • At 1:05 you can see a largemouth on the line so your lying when your say we dont use largemouth just trout and shad. Thats messed up man

  • @shitalker5 you need glasses - its a rainbow trout

  • @MonsterStripers I've been catching rainbow trout my entire life and none of them look like that. Rainbow trout arn't even built like that, what rainbow trout have that type of jaw? and color? Does anybody else agree with me?

  • @MonsterStripers so big stripers eat trout?

  • Monster was right- That WAS a Rainbow Trout, I know the exact "lakes" those Boys fish, They are all stocked with Trout and have been subsequently feeding the Striped Bass population. I fish the same water they do, the Trout are legally purchased from a Trout Farm and kept alive in Shad tanks. They are short FAT well fed Trout that only exist to be stocked or eaten. It is legal to use them as bait, as long as you can show receipt. The fish you see has had its mouth ripped open during the fight.

  • are these stripers or wipers? never heard of a freshwater striper?

  • @22bal All stripers, they have been landlocked in freshwater for many decades. Stocking programs were implemented once it was discovered.

  • What type of Bait-Lure do you use in for Stripers? Oh what type of Reels and rods are you useing andhow much did it cost?

  • @batstarwars2 trout, shad, mooneyes and blueback herring. We mostly use bass flipping sticks with 6500 - 7000 reels.

  • What type of Bait-Lure do you use in for Stripers?

  • i have cech one biger than that

  • yes that was a large mouth bass !

  • That is some awesome fishing man. where is that?

  • There is a fishing Guide in Alabama that put us on some pigs....i got 2, 40 pounders, one was like 44" long

  • Is this commercial guided fishing? If so where are you located and what is the name of the guide service?

  • Comment removed

  • what were u using as bait?

  • what pound test did you use? and did you break any rods?

  • Beautiful job, guys. You ever try artificial bait instead of live?

  • damn were did u fish at????

  • @mikevang91 Mostly Tennessee but some in Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas

  • Outstanding !!! Way to catch & release !!! I`d ask where you caught these but I know you would hafta kill me then.

  • @Drbucketmouth No specifics but mostly Tennessee

  • Was this during the catch and release only part of the striper run. We always go on the last week of catch and keep so we can keep our 2 keepers a day each. I've always heard the big ones come up the river a little later.

  • @fishfry66 No, every fish caught could have been kept but all were released to grow bigger.

  • Nice fish, you guys were using Largemouths as bait? Lol, i would have never thunk it. Usually i go fishing for largemouths and think they are a treasure, but then to use them as bait and catch something bigger! Nice.

  • @HishowProductions No largemouths used for bait - mostly store bought rainbow trout.

  • congratulations on your catch and also on your sportmanship and respect for the fish by your release.

    God Bless,

    Bravo

  • MonsterStripers:

Where/how do you guys get the trout you are live lining, a local hatchery?

  • @bigblip1 Local hatchery

  • Comment removed

  • thats not all that big come to my block island in rhode island and you'll see loch ness stripers.

  • @ZIGGY4OZGANG All of these were caught in freshwater, they do get bigger in the salt.

  • I bet that these stripers was caught somewhere in eastern tennessee. And if not just to let anyone know and not to hate on all the striper fishermans, Tennesee has huge rockfish just like these. But yall probably already knew.

  • Can a largemouth do that? I dont think so.

  • you can tell that largemouth was use as bait...

  • @xmoua promise you, none were caught on largemouth - trout or shad only

  • @xmoua no largemouth used PERIOD

  • wat r u guys usingfishin for whole life n only caught one 35 inches

  • @yeebyam mostly trout

  • wow at 1:06 that guy also got a bass

  • Amazing video, How are u guys fishing? R u guys free lining, trolling, drifting, or using planer boards?

  • that is a bigass fish

  • what bait are they using

  • @sengx Largemouth

  • I would like to congratulate these fine fisherman of the great example they are setting by releasing these great fish.

    God Bless and tight lines.

  • holy toledo! lol, cracks me up everytime haha.

  • was that largemouth bait or you caught it

  • @njoutdoors I have never used a largemouth as bait

  • what were u using as bait? we use like two pound american shad to catch stripers that big in the sac valley

  • where is this? Looks like the Roanoke river.

  • Not the Roanke but I have fished it before. Some of my fishing is in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia. i can't be more specific in such a public forum.

  • Info for newcomers to The Roanoke:

    1) No ATM's in Weldon

    2) Local BBQ joint only takes cash and/or a local check, within 30 miles.

    3) Blue laws still on the books in NC prohibit beer sales on Sunday until after 12 noon.

    4) Gas up, ice down your coolers, and bring your provisions with you! Weldon rolls up its sidewalks around 5pm and is shut down like Mayberry.

Roanoke Rapids is 2 mi. away, with restaurants, bars, and hotels.

    . Fishing permits are required.

  • Any word on when part two will be available? I've been chomping at the bit for a year now!

  • Available now!

  • You can find it at monsterstripes com

  • I checked out the reels you were talking about at a tackle shop and the guys there told me that the Calcutta 700 is way overkill and that the 400 would be perfect for what i'm gonna be using it for.

  • only an idot would realease those

  • So you would suggest that we keep every one of those fish?

I can understatnd where you are coming from but consider these few points:

It takes around 15 years for these fish to get that big.

Just a few folks keeping them can wipe the place out in less than a year.

We catch fish that have been released on a regular basis.

Once they are all gone - then what? Wait another 15 years for another batch to reach maturity?

There are plenty of put and take fisheries - not this one.

  • I appreciate all of your help, The calcutta is really nice. I was gonna either get a 7'6" st. croix med heavy or heavy or a loomis but they are crazy expensive. In the second fight of the video, i like the way that rod works really good. what kind is that one? Thank you so much for helping me out. Alot of guys dont wanna be bothered but you guys r really cool!! THANKS again

  • That rod is avery inexpensive BPS Tourney Special 7 1/2 foot heavy action flipping stick.

  • I am a Monster Stripers junkie !!!! Keep up the great work.

  • I usually fish in the Delaware River and on my buddys boat about 1/2 mile out on the ocean. There are rocke in the river and not as much in the ocean. In the river the water is about 30 feet in the channel, but in the ocean in can go a little bit deeper. The water clarity can vary alot depending on the weather, but i would say mostly semi clear. Thanks

  • Keep in mind, these are just opinions. 7 - 8 1/2 foot heavy / medium heavy rod. If money is not an issue, a Calcutta 700 (Shimano) or if money matters, an Ambassadeur 7000 spooled with 25 - 30lb test. Shimano would stand up to salt much better. keep in mind that I fish freshwater so a local tackle shop might give you better advice. In fact I would recommend you consult someone with local knowledge.

  • BEAUTIFUL FISH!!!!!Can you please tell me the type of rods and reels you guys are using. I want to get an outfit but want to make sure what i'm buying is good enough to handle them. If you can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

  • Need to know what conditions you face: How deep is the water? Trees, stumps or rocks in the water? How big are the fish? How clear is the water?

  • it doesnt matter about rods or gear just make sure you get frozen shad anchovies and bloodworms work the best you hook em threw their mouth i caugtht to 75 inch monster stripers yesterday over bloodworms goodluck man they wre fun oh yeah when you hook em keep pumping then real down pump then real down...

  • hey when u guys live line the fish how do u do it? (hook size, whre u hook them any leader, any weight?

  • Hook the fish in the nose. Hook size depends on bait size but usually a 7/0 octopus style hook. No weight (except in winter maybe). I do use flourocarbon in very clear water.

  • Live bait - mostly trout and shad. Many places all over the southeastern states.

  • hey i heard stripers taken from fresh water die after release is that true

  • I don't know what happened to my first response??? Anyways, that is true if you are fishing in warm water. However, it is not true at all in cooler water. I don't fish for the bigger fish in warm water so I would say 95% or more of the fish I release survive without any issues.

Now if you pull one up from 50 feet deep with a 90 degree surface temperature (which I refuse to do) the odds are that fish will die.

  • thoOse are huuge, im glad u let them back in.. i dont like to catch fish and keep them..

  • Damn NICE CATCH!!!

  • wow does are nice

  • hey wen you go to a fishing store be sure to get a boga grip its easyr to lift it on the boat

  • 7 1/2 foot heavy action flipping sticks for the most part...same as what you use flipping for largemouth.

  • what type of rods are you using they seem offly thin but yet super strong

  • GaWleeeeee, Vern. Them's some nice-uns.

  • theres freshwater stripers???!!!!???

  • Yes, they are stocking in quite a few resevoirs in the Southeastern States.

  • these r some big striper

so where is this hot spot

  • I can't say in such a public forum. I will say it is not just one location. The videos include footage from more than one state. These locations are extremely fragile and one meat hunter could single handily ruin any one of them. Every fish was released unharmed.

  • I fish for stripers in North Carolina and about 10 years ago the catawba river used to hold big stripes. Not as big these as but nowadays all the big ones are gone due to stingy people not learning sometimes when to catch and release. THANK YOU for c/r so ONEDAY I can catch one of those fish!

  • holy talido

  • what bait are you using?

  • Mostly trout but some Skipjack and gizzards.

  • are the trout alive or dead...

  • Very alive! They will work cut up but I prefer them to alive and kicking good.

  • what state is this cause i think useing trout in cali is illegal?

  • I fish all of the southeastern states. They are illegal to use in Kentucky and some states require a receipt, other just require a trout stamp assuming you do not exceed the limit.

  • can you tell me how big your cut trout would be and on what kind of rig ???

  • Carolina rig or simply a hook. For big fish use the head but leave the gut cavity in place. Normally, I use 2 - 3 inch sections. Sometimes pieces of fillet work better.

  • I have a good idea where you are at!?!?! Im hoping Don S will get me out there

  • Don has access to better waters than I do. Tell him what you are looking for and I am sure he can help you out.

  • yeah im lucky to of got to know him! it helps when you work on the water. a lot of ppl that i run into tell you nothing and don is like myself and will throw a bone or two on where there at.LOL

  • Wow! Incredible video - and great job handling those fish too. Now I'm all pumped up and no place to fish 'till the ice goes! What river were you guys fishing?

  • I just can't say in such a public forum. Meat hunters would destroy these places in short order. These fish can be caught many times but they can only get filleted once.

  • My sentiments exactly. Good fishing this year.

  • Comment removed

  • I have not caught a 60lber yet but hopefully this may be the year. There would never be any chance of catching a 60lber if they all met the fillet knife before they reached 20lbs. I have landed a 57 but never a 60....it will happen eventually.

  • over here in santa nell california we call them big one's moe's

san luis reservoir has monsters up to 60 pounds

  • Monster Moes ... kind of catchy. Might have to submit another video under that name.

  • That is amazing!!2 BIG fish at once, wish i was fishing with u guys..Videos like this keep my dreams alive...keep up the awsome fishing...where r u guys fishing at?
