This is Kris Mackerer here - the show that aired before my episode had a yoga instructor that redlined all of his money away...that's why my fiancé was freaking out...he didn't want me to go home empty handed!
@ShopBellaBeach You're welcome, Kris. In all honesty, I couldn't let this slip because it was such a terrific and mind-boggling win. Just watching you win it was just a lot of fun.
Kris, would you be interested in doing a contestant interview on my website, the Game Show Temple?
@mtiller2006 I'm kinda wondering about those missing four episodes. Wonder if Kris knows what happened in them or was she even around to see? (To bring those up to speed, this show taped 12 episodes but only aired 8 of them. There are four more that have never aired) And yes, I did like this show as well.
I think at least two contestants on the US version red lined all the money away on the first question. I don't remember though. Only if I could find a video of them.

They pull out confetti as the $100000 win only if they are out of time for the show. Probably Kris Mackerer was the last contestant before the episode ended. But Steven Benjamin didn't have confetti because there was still time to get another contestant after him.
"xxCrazyKid": I don't know about Kris, but I do know that in Steven Benjamin's episode, he was the second contestant out of four. (The first won $35,000, the third walked away empty handed, and the fourth won $34,000.)
"ultimacj": A lot of game shows with unique concepts get cancelled after a short run. "The Chair" falling victim to just that.
But I think it was the whole debate on "The Chamber" vs. "The Chair", about who ripped off whose show ---- it probably was this legal battle that stopped the production of both shows.
What an amazing game there. Kris Mackerer looked like she was going to be a nervous wreck throughout the game and while she had her share of redlines she managed to keep it under control. The money she has can really go a long way.
Did the US version really have a 45 second quick fire question section where the player must answer questions correctly to win back a heartbeat and they can pass too? In the UK version they did.
The US will never know. I'm told that they would have changed the Heartstopper format to the next show to that 45-second thing, but The Chair here in the US got pulled before we had a chance to find out.
Way to go Kris!! she deserved every penny I know the Answer from the momet the question came up The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill happened in 1989 I believe and everything else was in the 1990's and above

@ngarcia103 That third person redlined all the money away on the very first question.

Isn't The Chair still on air at the US or is it not on anymore. BBC in my country used to have this show in 2002 but it only lasted 1 series.
supersmith3000 3 years ago
No, it was canned after 9 episodes. ABC here ordered 13 episodes, but 4 of them were not shown.
mtiller2006 3 years ago
ABC promised to show the remaining episodes but they didn't. Some episodes were taped in the middle of the night to compete with the chamber.

In the episodes shown, no.

I believe only one person has been able to walk away with the $250,000.
