I remember meeting Rev. Issac Douglas from Gospel Music Workshop of America back in 1974 in Cleveland Hotel held at the Sheraton-Cleveland hotel. He did a lead for the mass choir almost every year and he was the one that everyone tried to emulate in spirit and style. The folks shouted all the way from the convention center back to the hotel, the service was so high every night.
Boy!! Reminds me of Sunday mornings at Charity Baptist - LORD we had church singing this one!!! GOD bless Rev. Issac Douglas for inspriring me to lead songs like this !!! In those days we didn't hold back, clearing out thoats, drinking water, sucking Halls - JUST GO AHEAD AND SING!! I'm lovin it!!!
Amen.... I too have great memories of Rev. Isaac Douglas. He and the late Rev. James Cleveland were at the the big names in the mid 70's when I ave my life to Jesus. I was so taken by the pair of them, I said I was going to name my first son after them . Isaac Douglas James Cleveland with my last name. Well that didn't happen (LOL). But they were the ones who nurtured my love for gospel music. God bless their legecy.
Yes sir! I have this record somewhere. Isaac Douglas was indeed before his time. Thanks for posting. Many people have forgotten about Isaac Douglas, Benny Diggs, Benny Cummings and the New York Community choir.

Rev. Timothy Wright wrote this entire album except one song. Can you hear him killing that Hammond Organ? Just the beginning of things to come.
