  • I know this is old. but those bats are not 3 or 4 weeks old. Those are more like a day old. Brown bats mature rabidly. At 3 weeks old they have a full coat of fur, eyes open, able to fly, and it can echolocate too. If they were in your house, the mother was out probably getting food. Too bad you didn't leave them for the mother to come back. They need to feed from the mother's nipple until 3 weeks.

  • I accidently stumbled upon three brown bats in my garage one freezing winter. They were all hybernating behind some lumber that I had stacked up against a wall until I started moving the boards to use them and they woke up. I became very concerned about their survival as I read that if they are awoken from their hyberation they can lose their store of body fat that they need to rely on throughout winter. I called the local animal shelter and they came and took them away.

  • Aww how cute! I like animals that are misunderstood and need a voice.

  • this is wonderful. I have been trying to find a way to get around the legalities of bat keeping in my state for years now. I would love to find a breeder but housing one in new jersey is illegal. these pups are absolutely adorable.

  • If you ever find baby bats they need attention immediately please go to batword (dot) org and click on "Local Rescue" and call a number of a animal rehabilitator closest to you even if it is in the middle of the night.

  • Help i THINK i found one od these on my back yard and i dont know wat to do can someone tell me wat to do plz?

  • Slfaulk53 great that you appreciate them. If you have this species then you won't see a reduction in mosquitoes only crop pests like beetles etc which they primarily eat. Little brown bats and myotis bats will eat mosquitoes when abundant. Any update on these bats!

  • Bats are one of the most beautiful genuses on the planet. They are by far my favorite animal and I have to thank you for being kind enough to take care of them instead of killing them or treating them as pests as most people would. Thank you for being a true animal lover.

  • no problem!

    thnx for coming by

  • i found a small black bat at 2:32am.

i did not know what to do so i left it there sqeeking

  • they are. but not when you keep these little bats where you sleep.they're a real noise.

  • Do you have experience with bats? What happened to them?

  • I actually have no experience at all with bats. However, I started surfing on the internet to see what they eat, what is the suitable temperature to keep them warm and anything else they might need. They were in terrible situation (very dirty and filled with bugs and lice) but I ended up with almost nothing.

anyway, I took them to Pet Smart shop where I live, and that is NOT for commercial purposes!! and a very nice girl took care of them. I kept in touch with her and they are doing awesome!!

  • That's great!

  • @sultan407

A wildlife facility may have been a better place. But glad to hear they are doing well.

  • Excellent video. So small & cute! We have them up in our attic in the end gable vents. They keep the mosquitoes & other flying bugs away for us. :)
