@speakercoilmusic This might be the second Youtube comment I've ever written... but I'm a fairly young DMB fan - I've seen 20+ shows from 2005-now. We have about 100 friends who go to the Gorge every year. I consider myself a huge DMB fan even though I only discovered Dave in college. Keep going to the shows because it's fans like my friends and I who want to meet fans like you. I love to hear your stories and experiences. That's what Dave is all about. Forget the d-bags. Love love love
I honestly think this is one of the best songs they've made after BTCS. Love it, so catchy and happy. Dave gets us hooked on his songs, then stops playing them. Not fuckin fair.
dmb and lillywhite had a falling out i believe and lillywhite withheld rights over the album that he produced so what dmb did was to re-record the songs in the lillywhite album and package them in different albums
steve lillywhite was the producer of the dozen or so songs that were later dubbed "lillywhite Sessions". If your lucky and hes drunk or happy or high and happy he will pull one of these gems out. Gorge Amphitheatre once a year for the last 12!
This is one of my favorites, along with "How Many More", of the songs that never got past the sound check stage. I love the rhythum. Makes me want to get up and move!
@Daves2hot I love this song too, but haven't heard of How many more. Hook me up man, if you can put that shit on yousendit and send it to me It'd be much appreciated.
I want to know the reasoning for leaving build you a house, JTR, monkey man, and sweet up and down off of busted stuff. They might have well left grey street out to lol
Dave was supposedly very depressed during the production of this album. My guess is that he just put a block on some of the songs......which is way too bad. It's easily their best album, to date.
I feel that they should have completed and released the lillywhite sessions. In my opinion, the tracks on that album are some of the very best songs they have written.
@humblemonkey1 The DMB culture is amazing, its not a cult, just thousands of people who all share the same core values of loving and living life with everyone around...
If kindness is your king then heaven will be yours...-DJM
@IBYUSunshine DMB culture USED to be amazing... Now it's in shambles. All you see at shows now are Abercrombi & Finch d-bags at the show, because their girlfriends wanted to go... and their girlfriends are just there to hear Crash. Now old school Dave fans are some of the coolest and kindest people I have ever met. I miss DMBML... Made a good many friends from there. Saw 27 shows between 97-2002... However the current crowd started ruining them for so I stopped going. :(
@speakercoilmusic It's funny because their shows change all the time so most girls that go dont even get to hear them play crash. Im only fourteen and I went to my first show this summer I had a blast an I agree with you because now few kids listen to dave all you hear is rap it is extremely annoying but im a freshman in high school so alot of the upper classmen are dave fans so I talk to them.
@dmbdispatch14 Yeah well back when I was 14 in high school I was one of only a few kids who really was into dave. I ended up forming a band with the two other dave freaks. I feel bad for your generation, because you missed his prime days. I only caught the tail end of them, but glad I got them. Back when he wore pajama pants on stage, played a black chet atkins sst, and every song seemed to last 14 minutes.
@speakercoilmusic yeah your one of the lucky ones Im in a band too .We play alot of dave like stuff But I was a little disapointed at the concert because I was excpecting alot more jamming. I mean the setlist was great, just I had seen his old stuff and I was hoping it would be alot more like that instead of seeing all the people that just went to go.
What do you care what other people listen to, does it really bother you that much? I dont understand why people like you are always posting comments like that on videos you dont even like. Why are you wasting your time?
As an avid DMB fan, I thank you very much for posting this. I knew about the song, but had never heard it. I wish they would just bust it out at a show this summer
no, because the lillywhite sessions is a leak of the album they shelved. after it became public, the band decided to re-record most of the songs, and that became busted stuff. to get the album you have to look for it in the internet, and not all people are gonna be happy about that.
build you a house is on another LWS cd, different from the more popular 12 track version; its more raw and draft-y sounding.
You could always make this studio qulality(by adding &fmt=18 to the end of the URL) then get a YouTube Vid to MP3 converter and convert that. Or just torrent it from somewhere on the web.
It was recorded during The Lillywhite Sessions, but was originally cut from teh album. Nobody really knows how it leaked out. It's a lost song. But a very good one.
