This "little" aria is excruciatingly difficult - 99% of sopranos never manage in their lives to sing the soaring lines with supreme accuracy (most of them sound as if singing a variation of this - let alone in live versions of the aria).

For me Renee here achieves the ultimate perfection I have heard in terms of tonality and the maximum effect of this ingenious melody by Puccini.

Indeed this is an extremely rare document and more than precious!!!

Hi Dominique. What a lovely video you have posted. Certainly an inspiring performance. But just one detail to be fixed up mon bien-aimé. You wrote wrongly "Il bel sogno di LAURETTA" but the real name of that aria is "Il bel sogno di DORETTA". Certainly we don't want Doretta to get jealous because of that lovely mistake. Hahaha :-)

Chill out Mmon bien-aimé, no one is perfect. In fact I have made quite a bunch of mistakes ;-)
