  • I just bought a Forester 2010 Model, and compared it to the CRV with a one day test drive and the CRV is crap!, Forester is a lot better in all senses. It handles better, has a better traction (Incomparable) better consumption, How can I say Subaru is just better! By the way I have the 2.0 150 Hp XS Model

  • Best off road performance in it's class but when I sat behind the wheel of the Tiguan, it's hard to convince myself to buy a Subaru.

  • 2010 XT:

    470 miles in a winter snowstorm, the week before xmas, Alexandria MN to Chicago. Solid as a rock. Ave 52 mph including stops. dozens of semi trucks in the ditch, i stopped counting the cars in the ditch after 50.

    I took me a few months to get comfortable with it, but this does even better than my 2000 Forester. Fast but not racy, sitting a little higher is nice.

    When the weather gets bad, the FXT really stands out. An excellent all weather GT + light utility vehicle.

  • is she saying that forester had "no game" with its previous model? PLEASE! the CR-V is 2 wheel drive crap. the Rav 4 is decent, but forester is the best in it's class! SUBBIES RULE.

  • I don't get it when they say that it breaks better ( I guess they are comparing it to the competition) but tire noise don't give you confidence, so let me try to understand this: if it takes to a car 20 feet longer to stop than other car but the tires are mute and it doesn't dive it's better than a car that dives under heavy breaking and tires are noisy .... but stops in less distance hummm ???

  • Turbo lag at acceleration is normal to some extent.

  • Please choose turbo if you drive the expressway for a long time.

    If it does and the rural road is driven from none and the expressway, the turbo car should not choose.

    It is because power and the suspension are different.

  • Do you underestimate my intellegence? I'm actually quite smart, I got an IQ of 136. I know alot about cars my family is looking for the perfect family viechle and they let me choose. I looked at EVERY car company and their cars and I chose the subaru forester it beats them all. The rav4 is close, but it didn't quite do it for me. I was wrong though there is a bit of turbo lagg but there's always a bit of turbolagg, we're not getting the turbo though.

  • Looking at reviews of cars isn't always the best way to go. A lot of the people whom write reviews are the ones who don't like it. This is the same for anything. They thing to do is narrow your search and then go to the dealership and feel it for yourself. Cars are much different in person than on the internet.

    P.S. I saw on a sticker once that said, "God created turbo-lag to give V8's a chance".

  • boo this review the automatic shifts are barely noticible, and it can brake way better than that your a frikn noob at braking I saw another vid where they stopped immdiatly. Neveer heard of it getting turbolagg. u suck

  • At first, I was all "That's an ugly ass RAV-4" but now I like this vehicle so much. If I was in the market for a CUV like this. I wouldn't even look around. THIS would be my choice.

    who are your drivers? because i don't think that they have any professional racing background with sport cars or any car(IMO,insideline is full of shit)

    for all we know,it might even be you behind the wheel, at least car and driver magazine has retired/pro race drivers testing and giving input on new vehicles.

    inside line gives us crap,with no kind of reference or source on the drivers that conduct these test(imo, they are still full of shit)

  • Turbo is free HP, with the development of turbos that have variable blades turbo lag is eliminated. Superchargers are "old school" They use HP to make HP, and are noisy and provide comparatively lower boost due to its reliance on engine rpm's to help the internal gearing to spool up the compressor.

  • Yes and no. Turbos always have a whistle, but due to the may types of Supercharger i.e. Roots type etc. There can be quiet or "S" trim chargers or whiny type old school chargers. do a search for Superchargers on youtube and you will hear the differences.

  • Sadly, the new 2.5XT (basically a Forester with a WRX engine) DOES NOT COME WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION!!! Only the lower trim levels get a manual transmissions *sigh*.....

  • I have a 2.5T XT with manual here in Oz :) Changing to a WRX though as the new Forester is now fat and slow.
